I'd go the distance to Ferrari/Maserati of Washington. This is a class operation in every regard, and for a tech, I can highly recommend Richard Capoccia - they just don't come any nicer or more skilled than he is.

Scott, when I lived in Lynchburg last year (moved to Florida), FoMW would picked up the car in the winter...for free! Not sure if they run that deal any longer, but they were doing it evidently to bring in the service work.

Also, at one time, they were offering a service on Saturdays where you can do your own maintenance in thier shop, using thier lifts, if you bought the parts from them.

I use FCI in greensboro to come get my car from VA Beach. I know they go as far as richmond, maybe c'ville. I also see FoW down here as well.

Nice Map. I will have to ask for one the next time I am there. Since I am a FMoW customer (bought my car from them) I wonder if they charge the same rate if you have break down out of town. I'll check when I get back from Columbus and let you know.

There is Foreign Cars Italia who is the Ferrari dealership in Greensboro, NC. They look like they could potentially be closer to you. I have talked with them and they seem reasonable but have not had anywork done there.

Unfortunately I found out FMoW doesnt have the $50 deal any more. For me it would cost around $360 for their pickup/delivery service. Here's the price map they sent me.

FMoW isn't impossibly far away for someone in C'ville, and Josh and the guys are really good IMO. I'd go with the others and head north.

If you ever happen by Pegasus in C'ville, the Audi dealer, look up Bob McElwee, the sales manager, a former racer, and a wonderful guy.

I agree. FMoW is excellent to deal with! Pick-up and delivery is not a problem. Most highly recommended. Last time I had my car delivered to me after a service, it was $50 for the delivery in an enclosed truck..

If you don't want to drive, FoW has a great deal where they will come in Virginia and pick up, then deliver your car in an enclosed truck. Used to be free, but I think it is $50 now.
I've used them many times from Newport News.

I'd recommend shooting it up to FMoW... Regardless of the name, they're really nowhere near Washington DC. They're actually 20-30 miles west, in Sterling. I have a feeling you could get there in 90 minutes or less by shooting up 81 or 29...

Scott, you live in c-ville? I thought I was the only one on here. I'm a sponsor of this board - and just moved my carbon fiber fabrication shop from Preston Ave. to Main Street. I do not know of any local Ferrari mechanics. I know of one on Boulevard in Richmond, but I've heard mixed reviews. Let me know if you want to stop by the shop sometime - I'll tell you what I know of these guys.

Anyone know of a good Ferrari mechanic in central Virginia? I live in Charlottesville -- doubt there is one here. How about Richmond? Would prefer not to have to go all the way up to DC -- but if so, who's good up there?

This would probably be to work on a 246GT if I end up getting one.

Thanks! :-)
Scott
