Dr. Griesdale,
A quick "google" search shows that Mr. Lawrence Strohl was the former CEO of Tommy Hilfiger, and current owner of Mont Tremblant race track in Quebec(?) He apparently owns an extensive collection of cars as well....

Love "Google" search engine...

Frank: "...that the Enzo would be a "world car"; compliant to all standards including Canadian."

JP: "...Enzo's have been and are legal to be sold in Canada."

Thanks guys for clearing that up.

From what I heard a piece of carbon fibre body work was cracked and had to be repaired. No big deal but certainly not something that you want to show off, hence the event was cancelled. Enzo's have been and are legal to be sold in Canada.

Rob - can Gerald be suspended for even starting a thread like this...? :-)

i couldn't eat, yesterday, after i read this... i still don't feel good... i can't even fathom an Enzo taking a turn for the worse... Ok, so if it's being driven like it was meant to be driven, great, but let's not think about the nasty things... i need some warm milk and a blanky...

Speaking to Remo at FoO he was assured by Luca at the Detroit Auto Show that the Enzo would be a "world car"; compliant to all standards including Canadian.

Faisal, not facetious, just jealous... :-)

Maybe if they raised production to 499/DAY, I might be able to afford one! Enzo's for everyone! :-)

I think Michael was being facetious ie. they didn't hold to the original production run (upped it to 399), so what's to stop them from making a few more beyond 399...

Michael, I think they built 50 more since the list was under so much demand. I might be wrong though

Dan,

Didn't the factory hold firm @349? :-)

Virtually anything is repairable. I would think that if the owner wants it badly enough, and reaches an understanding with the factory, the chassis tub can be used to "rebuild" a car with the same chassis number.

Well, I didn't mean that they'd do it for free. Surely you'd pay the costs... but the question is would they actually produce another one even if you paid for it, or would they hold to the 399?

I even question the fact that an Enzo can be sold here in Canada. As far as I know, they don't meet the reg's...

And for Dan's comments: "If you break one so badly that it's irreparable, will Ferrari make you another one?", that depends if the accident was caused by a manufacturing fault or driver error. If manufacturing fault, then yes, they have to. If driver error, why should they??? True, the car was being pushed to the limit, but why should Ferrari pick up the tab for one's "mistake"?

Andrew brings up a good point. If you break one so badly that it's irreparable, will Ferrari make you another one?

The dealer told me it was an FNA car that was making the round of various dealerships and was dinged in New York on it's way up to Montreal. I don't think Lawrence has taken delivery of a or his ENZO yet. I am assuming he has one on order.

Sorry, this was just another myth. On further investigation I have it from a relaible source that there are two problems with this story:

A. The Enzo in question never made it to Canada, which is why there was no event at the dealer.

B. Lawrence Stroll has never crashed an Enzo, at Le Circuit or elsewhere.

Here's hoping that this is not the case but 2 thumbs up to Mr. Stroll for using his cars as they were intended.
Perhaps Michael just needed a driver while in town and it was not available.

I just heard this from a friend in Canada. Supposedly the reason Ferrari Quebec cancelled their unveiling of the Enzo recently is that Lawrence Stroll destroyed it first time out at le Circuit Mont Tremblant. Any Canadians able to confirm?
