By the way, I just spoke to Matt. He is done for good. Now, can we send this thing to the "Threads of Fame and Shame" and be done with it?

Frank,

I wasn't trying to come off pretentiously, he asked me if he should still refer to his 308GT4 as a Dino I told him my opinion

Gerald,
If I came across that way my apologies

I never condone violence but here goes: There is only one way to settle this (well 4 really).

1) A card game: "War"

2) A game of "Quarters" to see who can drink the other person under the table.

3)A topped out race until the first person's car blows up.

4) A Full on no pads, Ultimate Fighting Challenge of "My Dad Is Stronger Than Your Dad".

You guys are flippin halarious!! That was really funny.

Cheers.

Jeff, it is a little pretentious of you to inform Gerald Roush of the Ferrari Market Letter on what is a Ferrari and what is a Dino. I suspect that Gerald knew Enzo or at least met him once upon a time. I know he has been to the factory on more than one occasion and has been in the Ferrari business back when you could buy a 250GTO for $6000 or less !

Frank,
The original 246 Dino was 1/2 Fiat, hence Dino a different brand vs Ferrari,
the 308GTS,B series on up, they are all Ferrari, this series has nothing to do with Fiat other than owning Ferrari

Gerald,
Ferrari rebadged the GT4 in 75 from Dino to Ferrari, you can call it a Dino all you want

Nika, don't tell me that I am the one that caused you to change your handle from Racerchick to Racernika ? And Gerald, as a long time Ferrari expert, tell us your thoughts on these two issues : 1) is it well documented that Enzo once commented that all Ferrari road cars should be front engined V12s; and 2) was the 308GT4 badged by the factory as a Dino and later changed at the dealer level to Ferrari as a result of an FNA request

I deeply regret that this outrageous display of bulletin board behavior was allowed to proliferate without my presence! It took me 10 minutes to catch up with everything. By the way, doesn't everybody think that religious license plate frames are great??? And how about that overpriced gas???

Don

I for one have had my run in with Frank - but he really is a valuable contributor and I do respect him for it. I know he's a great family man and a true Ferrari guy.

As for spelling - heck - I'm a journalist by trade and still make spelling mistakes.

Please - the term "a$$clown" should be left in school yards and when talking about politicians

Jeff, I owned a 328GTS and did not consider it any lessor than other Italian cars including Ferraris. Why do you feel that if your car was badged as a Dino it would somehow be "lesser" than it is badged as a Ferrari ? The car is what it is regardless of the badging ! My daily driver is a BMW M5 and I don't consider it any lesser than my Boxer or than any other car for that matter. It is different, but not lesser . I have a friend that has an NSX that he has rebadged as a Honda. It does not perform any better or worse that it did when it was badged as an Acura.

How about suspending anyone for 30 days who calls any 3xx series car a Dino and saying "only a proper 12 is a true Ferrari" for being a condescending snob to us "lesser owners"

I showed my wife this thread and we both loved it! Don, you are great. I have never seen anyone react so much to a trivial post. I didn't see Frank insult your family. He was insulting you by suggesting that you learn English 'for the sake of your family'
I have sent links to this thread to my friends - it's great!

Because of threads like this is why I know a few fellow Ferrari owners that don't bother visiting this site. Between the egos, name calling, Lambo vs. Ferrari, and the popular I have to take pics of my title to prove I own such car threads it does get old pretty quick. Rob is correct, please stop discrediting FC.

PS. Please excuse any grammar mistakes I may have made.

Not this one, or the one The Don linked to at the bottom of this one... This is Ugly. Full stop.

I agree Rob. I recommend that you should establish a rule that if a FC poster uses profanity that their ability to post be suspended for 30 days for the first offense and then permanently excluded after the second offense. A chat room about automobiles such as FC is no place for such language.

Hey guys, don't blame me. I did not post one word against this looney tunes guy until he started using profanity and calling me names. Then to top it off he offered me a sexual favor ! But, as I have learned over the years, when one lacks the intellect to use cordial language they have no other choice but to use profanity and insults to express themselves. Kinda like a dog barking at the wind.

At the risk of extending a thread that does not really belong here . . . Don, before you get too critical about another's use of the English language you should learn that in English plurals are made by adding the letter "s" and the possesive is made by adding an apostrophe and the letter "s". This misuse is a personal pet peeve of mine.

So the correct plural of Ferrari is Ferraris, the correct plural of Dino is Dinos, and the correct plural of degree is degrees. Not as Don wrote:

"Out of the 6 Ferraris/Dinos I have"
's Franky 's

You can't spell degree's

"The water temp stayed at around 100 degress or so. Is "
