Mitch, it does make me feel a lot better that the car is being put to good use. But I will be back with one soon. As for color, TC , If you are going to DRIVE it, color should not matter because the mileage will kill the value, I am willing to drive any color as long as the car is is good mechanical shape. (except Prugna) |

Well, I guess (know) I have strange taste--I much prefer the yellow/tan to the yellow/natural. Doody, I think that's great advice. I'm not yet in the market, but when the time comes I plan to make a list of color combos I'm *not* interested in, and then look at all the others for the best car for me. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was just a couple. BTW, on Sunday I was timed at 2:13-14 on SO3's, too. Great tires. |

joop's picture looks like Yellow / Natural while tc's picture looks like Yellow / Tan. the standard "tan" is much too light for my liking. the natural "cuiuo" (sp) is much richer imo. it's less likely to wash out against the yellow. if you are interested in rare color combos, make sure you have a backup of something more common - otherwise you might push to hard to buy a car you wouldn't otherwise buy - just for the color. my wife beat me up about the yellow/black and i spent a couple months looking for silver/black instead - i almost bought one that almost certainly was in way less good shape than the yellow/black i ended up with. doody. |

"I still beat myself up over selling it" Thanks Paul! "Your old 355 was at TWS this weekend too. I had the pleasure of having Mitch pass me in it a couple of times." Only a couple of times? BTW I was timed at 2:10 this weekend at TWS on street tires (S03s)! |

Thanks, Andreas. That's a good start. David, I've seen a 996 in speed yellow/savanna beige and it doesn't work well at all IMHO--mostly because of the orangeness in the SY and the mustard in the beige. I was thinking that Ferrari's fly yellow and beige would look much nicer together. Most of the 355's I've seen in the past couple of months have had the beige interior, and it just looks fantastic in that car.

rare combo- I've seen a 996 convertible in this combo and looked slightly bananaesque the yellow has to be deep, rich and really pop for this to work or both colors look washed out I think a ferrari yellow and a very light tan- almost a bone would look pretty good though |

8 thousand miles in a summer? Holy cow. That's gotta be some kind of F-car mileage record. Your old 355 was at TWS this weekend too. I had the pleasure of having Mitch pass me in it a couple of times.

There was somebody at TWS last Dec that had a yellow/tan 360 Spider. The tan looks washed out next to the yellow. That is my personal opinion. As for seat time in the 355, I took mine from Austin to Santa Fe and back, it was more comfortable than the Boxster and holds more luggage. I still beat myself up over selling it. I put 8k miles on it over the course of a summer and never had any problem other than it was hard to go through the Cabana drive through with out having a conversations with the guy there. |

Paul, Yeah, Tim definitely does not play fair. I was pretty blown away driving his 360. I've got to get some seat time in the 355 so I can see what you're talking about. Tim keeps saying I should ask FoH for a test drive, but I can't bring myself to waste their time until I'm really in the market. 2 for 1 sounds good for next year. I actually may need a little more time. It looks like it may take me forever to find a Yellow/tan car anyway! |

TC, I heard Tim suckered you. I think the 355 is a much better car to drive than the 360. Maybe we can work a deal for 2 next year |

Thanks Jim and Doody. I swear I've seen yellow/tan, and I think it would be a fantastic combo for the 355, but I can't seem to find pics anywhere. Of course, yellow/black is definitely sweet. ;) |

yeah - they're fairly uncommon. yellow was a popular color (after red and black) but the tan interior with yellow was definitely not common (mostly black). in fact i think i've probably seen more yellow/bordeaux than yellow/tan - truth be told. doody. |
