For the price of the non-stainless Ansa, you can just about get a stainless Stebro. You're still about half of the Tubi.

I have had an ANSA on my carb'd no cats 308 (it's a 77), and recently (6 months ago) changed to a Tubi.

Both produced a "good" sound. Tubi is louder, much "bubblier" on overrun and much better made - as it should be for the price differential. And, yes, I do prefer the Tubi sound, but you need to really like to hear the exhaust wail!

Frank- Have you heard your Ansa next to the Tubi on identical cars? I would love to hear any comparisons between the two.

I had a Borla on my 328 and liked it just fine. My current BB512i has an Ansa sport exhaust and it sounds great. I have debated over a Tubi several times over the years but can't justify the price for what little, if anything, you get. IMHO the Tubi thing has now became pure marketing hype with little relationship to the sound and perceived extra power you get. Sure, a Tubi sounds great. But, so does other sports/performance exhaust for a lot less money.

Does anybody have any performance numbers for a 360 tubi. I was told 7% increase in HP. My car seems to wind quicker mid range and up. Had I known how much I would like the Tubi I would have gone it 12 months earlier. What a great look with all the polished stainless steel.

Why does it seem that every post I read about exhaust systems, the focus always seems to be about the sound and not on the performance? Do we forget the technical aspects of a tuned exhaust? Is this our high-priced 'fart pipes'? With the technical level of members on this forum, I scratch my head sometimes on this topic!..Hell, I'm going to post this reply in Tech Q&A!

Prefer TUBI on the 360 spider so I can hear the exhaust when driving in the open air, and prefer NOT to have TUBI but listening to MOZART's Jupiter symphony in my 550 Maranello :-)

Stock is what I use. Ferrari, I think, knows what is best for me. I never doubt Ferrari. Noise is for the teenager. A gentleman likes it not being loud.

Ron...Check out www.srexoticautomotive.com. Call or send Wayne Hynes an email for pricing on his custom exhaust systems. He is currently building me a titainium-stainless TRUE tuned exhaust, well under the advertised brand pricing. These popular brands focus on the sound more so than pure performance and a great deal of what guys are paying for is the advertising that Brand T & B have buried in their prices. Wayne is a guru, a diamond in the rough when it comes to exhaust systems that deliver ulimate performance (and a nice sound too!)...If you are not pleased with a purchase of his product, hell I'LL pay you back!

Borlas suck... I hear the BMW guys always complain how they prematurely rust and quality stinks... They also tend to be cheaper than OEM.. I guess you get what you pay for..

Ron,
Tubi is up the street from Ferrari in Maranello. I suspect there is much more cooperation between the two than they tell us. Ferrari has sourced exhausts for production, not only for acceptable quality but also for cost (obviously). I know Tubi prefers to stay in the aftermarket business where there is a valid niche for higher ticket hand-polished mufflers that take two or three days to make.
Matt, yes, we're back ordered on 360 Tubi's to the tune of more than 50 units, Tubi has resisted expansion at the cost to quality. They are carefully planning higher production numbers next year. I've had to explain that to Norwood last month.

David,
I think Borla is still making exhaust for Ferrari. Late night while reading my latest issue of Motor Trend, the back advertisment section showed a 550 with the exhaust..
That's what triggered this question..

If you ask me, Tubi should be standard with all Ferrari sales. Or at least an option.

Talking to a guy at Norwood's here in Dallas this past weekend, I noticed they had started to carry ANSA exhaust. He said a Tubi exhaust he had tried to get for a Ferrari customer had a 16 person waiting list, that he liked the ANSA exhaust note better, that it actually gave a tiny horepower increase vs zero on the Tubi, and cost half as much as Tubi. His words, not mine.

I guess I'll throw in my opinion, I heard the Tubi, thought it sounded good, since it was about the only exhaust out there for the 360. Then I talked to GHL in AZ. I talked them into building 360 exhausts, had mine put on a couple months ago. Both the dealer and I thought sounded better, its lighter, and you can get bulls eye tips. Oh, its cheaper too.

Well, Borla no longer makes exhausts for Ferrari (they are not listed on their website any more) so unless you can find some left over stock, or a used one off Ebay, you are going to have to get a Tubi. Which is not a bad thing in my book...

Alright, that's enough patting myself on the back.:-)

Tubi exhaust. Borla Exhaust.. Anyone ever use a Borla here on their Ferrari? What's the difference in performance and sound?
