Brian,
I respectfully disagree.

There are a lot of bad aples and yes the laws are more favorable to dealers than in other states, that is why they all come down here but there is no license to keep your money.

There are clear laws against consumer fraud and those will protect you. Taking your money and not delivering is NOT an option unless you want to live in a 4x6 cell for a few months.

It is unrealistic for a dealer to send the car to a customer before he receives compensation since once the car leaves he has basically no more recourse. I would not do it, neither would you if you owned the dealership. If you absolutely think you can not trust anybody I work for example with an attorney who will act as escrow agent. Once he receives the title he will release the money to me. Cost is about $200 and will be charged to the buyer if he wants to.

I second that there is a vast amount of knowledge and experience on this board. If you get a "stay clear" you should do so. Once of the reasons why it does not pay to mess around.

I'll second that... and definitely do NOT pay for the car (to a FL dealer) until AFTER its in your driveway. FL dealers have license to keep your money and the car.

I can highly recommend Shelton Ferrari in Fort Lauderdale. My salesman is Bud Root and the manager is William Campbell. They treated my with the greatest of respect even before they knew I was a serious buyer. They do what they say. I called their service manager for a few questions about a service issue while I was at a dealership (non-Ferrari) in Indiana and they gave me great support. I feel like they gave me a fair price and what a great car! Thanks to Bud, William and the rest of the group! I don't know if they monitor this site.

If I had to buy in FLorida, I'd only buy from Martin.

IMHO = I'd stay clear of all the others.

my 2 cents

shelton did a PPI for me - i was very pleased with them. thorough work. and they fit me in quickly. sent me lots of pics via email of various problems. stopped the PPI early to save me some money since they found some serious issues.

Jason,
Heard too many bad things about prestige, Best place in that area is Shelton in Ft Lauderdale. They have the best sales and service staff.
With them at least you know the car is a good one, they stand behind what they sell.

If you do decide on the car from Prestige, at least have a Technician that you trust check over before you buy.

Good luck and regards, Jim

Martin must be feeling his oats after that trip to Monaco. Hey Martin, a friend of mine's son was in Italy last week also. Did you see him by any chance? You couldn't miss him. He had a camera with him.

Jason, let everyone know what you are looking for. Others may be able to assist and know someone selling the type of car you are looking for. Where do you live? Just my 2 cents.

Fred,
if I told you guys how I really felt you would only get the red dots and would not understand anything. :-)

Steven,
ask Modman if he had received his $5000 that they owe him and refuse to send back. There was someone else I tink that had the same $5000 that they owed him. Funky if you have to send a deposit before they release info or let you see the car. Who went there after telling them he is on a plane to look at the car just to arrive and be told the car is already sold?
An yes, they also used my photos on their website claiming they had the car for sale.

Stanley (thats my cat's name)
you are right. I also have heard nothing but good from Naples motorsport. I would give them consideration if they have what you are looking for.

Martin,
Since you are in Florida. What have you heard about Exotic Cars Wholesale? I thought about doing business with them but I somehow recall hearing something negative.

Jason,
stay clear of them!!!!!

I bought my 348TS from them and for 3 years now they owe me the manual, the second key, the service records and they sold me the car as a Challenge car when it was not. (I knew that when I bought it, but still)

They were the reason I went into business to show that it can be done different.

Their sales staff has attitude but knows and the management sucks big time. They do not care about your business since alledgedly most of their biz comes from money laundring sceams.

I would not buy parts from them if my life depended on it. Rather walk than drive!
