Thanks guys.

I will check out the market letter.

Paul, this would be my first Ferrari. My last car was a Zanardi NSX. It was a really fun car that I am almost regretting selling but I wanted to try something new. I am in SoCal near Orange county Ferrari. I have been over there. One of the cars I am looking at is there.

5-6k for a clutch is expensive but I guess not to far out there. The 97+ NSX clutches are in the $2000 range + labor. The difference is that they dont need new clutches unless you just want an aftermarket clutch for whatever reason.

I am puzzled as to your concern to find parts for the 360 on the internet. Do you mean accessories? Trying to repair a 360 on your own is a nightmare. You are much better off at a dealer or reputable Ferrari repair shop. They will get the parts.

Nick, I am looking for places like (NSX examples http://www.daliracing.com or http://www.scienceofspeed.com ) Not only do they carry aftermarket parts but they have the OEM parts as well, usually for much less than the dealers want to charge you. Even if you dont buy the parts from them it gave you some idea as to what the parts should really be costing from the dealer.

My understanding is the clutch problems have been resolved beginning in the late model 2002 360's.

The 360 Spiders have top problems. The mechanism which operates the top is VERY complicated and frequently has problems in opening and closing smoothly. You probably will need a couple of service calls before getting it to a point where it is manageable but not perfect.

One thing you should not do is put the top down and leave it down for extensive periods of time (several days). The top functions better when operated on a regular basis.

Recently one of the hydraulic hoses for my top began to leak and needs to be replaced. Not a big job (in Ferrari terms) but none the less a service call.

Despite the problems I love the car. Worth every headache.

The early 360's have problems with clutches regardless if they are F1's or 6 speed. Many have been repaired under warranty. However with a 1999 the warranty probably has run out and the 2000 soon to run out. These repairs usually run around $5000.

I am puzzled as to your concern to find parts for the 360 on the internet. Do you mean accessories? Trying to repair a 360 on your own is a nightmare. You are much better off at a dealer or reputable Ferrari repair shop. They will get the parts.

Value of the 360 can be ascertained from a number of sources on the internet. The numbers you have are ballpark.

matt, welcome. i have a 360 and i replaced my clutch, it's basically $6k. other than that they are great cars...if you buy that year plan on a new clutch, and whatever you do get a PPI, specifically have the clutch wear checked from the OBD.

Matt, where do you live? Maybe someone can suggest someone in your area to develop a relation with and also get your questions answered. I have an '01 with an F1 but don't follow the prices. Would this be your first Ferrari? I love the F1.

Welcome to the board Matt. As I don't have the 360 I can't answer most of your questions. I can however say that asking prices quite often have nothing to do with where the cars real value is. Perfect case in point is the Ferrari Market Letter......
Best guage is to find out where private individuals are buying cars (private to private, or private to dealer), and then get a good handle on what they paid.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think '99 or '00 360's are going for a good amount less than 140's.

The 360 owners on this board should be able to help you.

Good luck.

This is my first post so, Hello!!

I am seriously looking into buying a 99 or 00 360. I will probably get an F1 but the clutch life issues have me concerned. I am having a hard time finding prices on the Net for any 360 parts short of the Challenge rear grill and Tubi exhaust. Can anyone here let me in on the secret?

How much is a 360 clutch. How many hours does it typically take to do a clutch replacement on the 360?

How much are 360 challenge wheels? Where can I buy them?

360 prices.

I was offered a one owner, F1 360 (~13,000 miles), challenge rear grill, challenge wheels ect., from someone I know who is selling it because he has a Stradale on order. He was asking $140,000. I am thinking about it but I would like a yellow or Titanium car, maybe even a manual 6 speed. I started looking around at the prices and they seem to be listed for the mid 140s to mid 150s. I am new to this kind of car shopping so I was wondering if it is just like all other cars. Do these mid 140 ads really mean mid to low 130s sale price?

Thanks,

-matt
