Ron,
I've seen this car in person. I think the car was hit in the rear at some point. It was bought at an auction (by the dealer at Auto Toy Store in New Jersey) the dealer was selling it as a restoration project, now after a few months, I guess it's show up here as a trade in. I found a few things wrong with the car when I went to look at it. With all of the things wrong with the car, (I thought they were kind of minor) I was really wanting to buy it, but the last straw was when he wouldn't let me put it up on a lift so I could inspect the underside. After that, I had to walk.

Ron,
I beg to differ, I have seen a couple 308's that were reupholstered in vinyl (!) Yikes, not sure what those owners were thinking...
Also seen various Ferraris that had the piping trim on the seats replaced with shiny vinyl piping instead of leather.

Bluemels book mentions that the QV's had a factory option to substitute cloth seat centers.

FWIW the qv500 model guide on the 308 has cloth seats listed as a special order option. I wouldn't be surprised if these are the factory ones due to the fact that they appear as factory seats and who would ever redo a ferrari interior in cloth.

Look around at all the other cars in the photos, I think this car has some stories to tell.

David,

If the car came in leather, I don't think they woould upholster it in cloth..

The rear bumper appears as though it's not sitting straight.......

After this many years, who is to say that this is original? I have seen so many 308's with redone seats that without documentation, there is no way I would believe that came from the factory like that.

There are a number of things that don't appear original to this car already, to include the repained front grills (should be red, not black) the door speakers, antenna mounted incorrectly (should cant backward, exhaust sticks out too far and may be aftermarket. Boy, that is one very rotted steering wheel leather too.
