Yoshi,
The link I posted is his official site for his collection in Gotenba. If your from Japan then you will probably already know this is about 1 1/2 hours away from Tokyo by car very near Mt. Fuji. He also has a watch collection and 4 cars in Azubu Juba (area in Tokyo, Toei Oedo Line one stop after Roppongi). If the fall there is a wonderful event held there called "Ferrari Brunch" and it is invite only. If you buy your Ferrari from Cornes you have a good chance at going.

How much does a 275 GTO go for? I saw a yellow one in Michigan (southwest) a few weeks ago.

Paul,
I checked out the sight, and found this is the private party held by FCJ member in Osaka. President name of the club is Mr. Okamoto, and I don't know who he is yet. Based on the caption, it seems these items are at his house or his office! They hold many events in past years, and posted their pics at the site you found. How did you find it?!?! There 's not much info on these pictures, and someone just put caption for each pics.
FChat always surprise me with abundance of resource & member's effort.
Someone mentioned "Matsuda Collection". What is that? Is there any site for pics?
Any comment?

You'd think a guy with that much money would know how to outfit the pit guys working on Berger's F189.!

Wayne, I thought it might have been Okamoto's collection but couldn't find enough info to back it up. Thanks

If it is Okamoto collection, it's not surprising. Their brand is well-known & most used in Japan, and sells in USA, too. (priced high for thoese who doesn't mind paying extra for pleasure) and many people who invested in his companies early '80's made a good money. Okamoto makes one of the thinnest rubber, brand name rubber (by tie-up w/ established designers), novelty (my favorite is neon color & glows in dark), rubber w/ various taste (never tried them), and constantly coming up with new materials for rubber. Gosh, I feel like PR man for Okamoto.
Paul, if you tell me the address, I can check it and let you know what is says in few days.
I wonder I can visit this place & check them out. It's a feast for my eyes & soul.
Still waiting for my first Ferrari....... Just made 3rd offer in 2 wks. Hope this works out

Taek, I saw an original Cobra at a small outdoor car show about 15 years ago. It was also in the hands of a long term owner. The guy didn't even bother to clean the car up for the show. It still had old Coke cans and dirt and grass laying in the floor. He just drove it to the show and parked it with the rest of the cars. He scribbled a sign on a piece of cardboard box and propped it on the windshield warning people not to lean on the aluminum body. Don't know whatever happened to that car. But it was pretty wild knowing that his dirty car was worth more than any restored car at the show.

Well Arlie dont forget that they might not have bought those cars for $4000 but they sure worked their ass to get the $$ to buy them a $5M or more .

Arlie,

I can come kind of close.

I met a gentleman who bought a 427 Cobra when it was about five or ten years used. The owner was about to pretty much scrap them because they were in rough shape (he had two), and this guy ended up buying one of them. Worked on the car himself to get it running properly, and he still has it.

He doesn't have a million bucks and he never did. You would think him an Average Joe, but when that garage door opens...BAM You're floored. Even though there have been times he has needed the money he refused to, and still, refuses to sell it. He almost sees it as a part of his family.

Fantastic.

Cheers

What's the big deal? A multi-millionaire that can afford some expensive cars. That's nothing very special or unexpected. Show me an average guy who bought a 250GTO or a 58 Testarossa for $4000 back when they were rotting in the barn and restored it himself. THAT is a collection worth taking notice of. He's the fellow that outsmarted everybody else.

He sold it to Symbolic Motors who the sold it to DK engineering who still have it. I am sure he has alot more cars that aren't on that list.

I could've sworn there were more cars. Also, didn't he have a 250LM (Wayne?).

This is a list of Matsuda's collection

http://www.ferrari-museum.co.jp/List.html

I'm not sure if this is Okamoto's collection but if Wayne said it is then I'm guessing it is. Okamoto is a famous manufacture of rubber and they make the number one condom in Japan. A friend of mine here in Tokyo went to high school with his daughter 20 years ago and has told me about the family before. Very nice collection indeed. I will research to see if this is public and if so you can bet I'll take some pics for everyone.

Jonas,

if you look at all the pictures with writing, it's in Japanese with the exception of the pci with the eb100, it's in english and Japanese. Also the licence plates are Japanese.

It's not Tonkin's

To tell you the truth guys, I can't figure this one out. Like Andrew, I assumed this was part of Matsuda's collection, but this building is not the Ferrari Museum of Art in Japan, where he keeps them, and I believe some of the cars are different from his. I found these pics on the web, but it is a Japanese site and I couldn't figure out who's, or where this, collection is.

Any good guesses?

Wow! From the looks of it, there are some non F cars laying around like the Bugatti EB110...wonder what else is there?

Unfortunately, I'm going to venture a guess that these cars see as much work as that tool set those...not much if ever?
