Jordan, I believe all of the standard (non-LMB style) series I GTOs were originally built with only two extractor vents on each front fender. A third was often added for additional engine cooling.

Why did some GTOs have 2 side vents on the front, while others have 3? A few pictures of a 250 GTO reunion in France showed a couple cars with varrying side vents. I cant find the pictures I am referring to online, but they are in an issue of Forza a few months back.
