SORRY for yet another email, but there may be a CHANGE OF PLANS -- if the grass at Bushnell Park in Hartford is too wet, the Concorso Ferrari will relocate a few hundred yards to the large parking lot for the State Capitol building. This way, we'll save some wear and tear on the grass, and as importantly, keep your pants and shoes and cars cleaner! The final decision will be made over the weekend, and signs will be posted showing you where to go on Sunday - the Capitol parking lot is adjacent to Bushnell Park.

The last forecast I checked showed the current rainstorm moving off to the south and east, so I'm optimistic for Sunday. The event is held rain or shine; the luncheon buffet and prize ceremony will be under the pavilion or tent.

ROAD TRIP - for those of us driving down from Greater Boston or Northeast NE and plan on attending the Village for Family and Children in Hartford tomorrow (as part of the weekend festivities), if you'd care to meet up for the drive, I will be at the WESTBOROUGH service area off the Mass Turnpike (westbound), which is west of the intersection with I-495. We will depart this service area for Hartford at 10:30 a.m. SHARP. I will have my Motorola FRS radio, channel 3, code 8 with me, or call me on my cell phone (ping me privately).

See you tomorrow (or Sunday)!

vty,

We'll be there unless the rain is just too heavy. What's with the full gas tank request?

Passing showers in the morning, turning sunny in the afternoon, according to the last one I read.

But it doesn't matter ALL that much... the luncheon and prize ceremony is conducted on the COVERED pavilion. Sure, you may walk around in the showers a bit to check out the car, but you can hang out and eat shrimp and drink champagne in the pavilion. There is no rain date.

If you're coming and showing the car, please do fill up the gas tank, at the request of the city of Hartford (for fire hazard reasons, apparently; no, I don't understand either).

As a new member of the New England Chapter I was thinking of making the trek from Mass but the weather is looking a little nasty.

Has a rain date been set? I'm not seeing anything on their site about it.

I'll be there as well.

It looks like the weather is going to be tough on Saturday. Do they have rain dates, or do we just have to find out how good the weather seals are?

I will definately be there.

This is a good opportunity for us fellow F-Chatters to get together, check out our cars and help a good cause in the process.

It's surprising that there hasn't been any response to this...What's up?

So, who's going? Wanna see the evolution of the modern Ferrari supercar - from the 288GTO to F40, F50 and Enzo? Wanna check out a nice selection of 275GTBs? Daytona coupes and spiders? A 212 Barchetta? An original Testa Rossa? Or lots and lots of 308s, 328s, 348s, 355s, 360s, TRs, 550s and Mondials? Lots of Challenge cars? Maybe a surprise or 14?

All for FREE to the general public?

This coming weekend (June 21-22) is the FCA/New England Region's premier Ferrari event, what promises to be the largest gathering of Ferraris in New England, the Hartford Concorso Ferrari!

This fabulous show benefits the Connecticut Children's Hospital - every penny of the registration fee (only $75, and you get a GOURMET brunch included) goes to the hospital. We expect to raise over $100,000 for sick children. Those of you who've attended either or both of the first two, you know how great the food is, the champagne, the comraderie, and most of all, the kids. Those of you who haven't you have no excuse -- come and see everything, from the line-up of modern Ferrari supercars to historic race cars to national concours winners. As part of the weekend, there is also a picnic on SATURDAY to benefit the Village for Families and Children, as well as a cocktail party and dinner out.

The weekend fun starts on Saturday, June 21, with the Village for Family & Children picnic in Hartford, CT. We'll entertain children and hand out presents, raising money for a great cause. Please call Pete or Rosemary Lombardo at (860) 646-5454 or [email protected], or Dave or Fiona Friar at (860) 678-1291 or [email protected]. So come on down on Saturday; there are discounted hotel rooms at the Goodwin Hotel available too (see below).

On Sunday, we'll have the 3rd Annual Hartford Concorso Ferrari, running 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with registration starting at 9:30 a.m.. http://www.fca-newengland.org/2003concorso.html. Come see the new Enzo Ferrari, with an F50, an F40 and a 288GTO, as well as dozens of modern and historic touring and racing cars. Truly spectacular gourmet food, champagne, a parade for children patients, and lots of surprises. For more information, please contact Dave Friar, Connecticut Chapter President, at (860)678-1291 or [email protected]
