KCCK:

The comment I have heard from two different Ferrari mechanics regarding reliability of the 550 was "bullet proof". It is now my daily driver so I hope that holds true!

I recently purchased a 1999 TDF Blue Maranello with 10,000 miles, mint, Carbon Fiber Interior, Piping on seats, Colored Dash, Tubi from my dealer for 128k. I concur that the car is WAY undervalued for what you get in quality, performance. What a piece of kit!

IMO, the $20K in stereo/nav crap is probably a liability to the price. the tubi won't get you more money, but many folks will not look at a 550 without a tubi, so it's just a cost of doing business.

it's a HELL of a lot of car for the money.

doody.

Yes, the earliest 550's are now right around 100k. And you are right, what a car for the money! But look at 355's...you can get a 95 355B for around $70-75k right now. THAT is a hell of a lot of car as well!

He will get little premium for the Nav, stereo and Tubi. A realistic "private seller" asking price is probably around $118k, and will actually sell around $105-110k if he can find a buyer before winter...

The market will probably continue to fall and level off in 2004...at least that's what my crystal ball says. :-)

Too high. The dealer in San Antonio has a 2000 Maranello with 24K miles for $129K.

My friend is selling a Blue/tan USA 98 550 Maranello with 6900 original miles (he bought it with 1200 on it). It has a Tubi, 20K in stereo equipment and navagation. New factory rims. New brakes and tires.. He is was asking $149K then $139K but will now take $129K. Is this to low or should hehold out for a higher asking price. Has this market come down that much?? What are the real values of the 1998 550?
