The cost for the stipes is somewhat justified.

The car is being assembles in pieces. Unlike other manufacturers Ferrari paints the pieces individual and not assembled. Doors, bumpers, chassis and all is painted disassembled and them put together. This means the stripe has to be painted to all cars or after added by taping off the car and hand-paint it to the car.

Unless you track the car I would not want one and if I tracked it I would paint that on at my body shop and not pay for 1st class paint work.

There are two ways to tell a customer, "No".

The other is to say, "We think it looks tacky, so we won't do it".

I think it may be partially driven by the cost of the flubs, when they stripe a 100 cars, 2-3 are flubs, ie. bug in paint, stripe crooked, etc. The car must be scraped as no real purist will drive a reworked car. I heard they just park em out back of the paint shop. This cost has to be borne by someone.

Ferrari should charge more for their new cars until the point there's no long waiting list. Supply and demand.

Ferrari has easily seen idiots paying $100K over sticker (remember when the 360 Spyder first came out?), then, they should have no trouble finding ones that will over pay on decals. It's not like they have to find thousands of FOOLS.......just a few!!!!!

There is only ONE reason why they would charge this much; because there are people who will pay it.

A fool and their money are soon parted.

Unfortunatly most of the fools who part with over 6 grand for a stripe are too wealthy to miss it. Ferrari charges this because they know that suckers come to them; they don't even have to look for them.

Those stripes are worth their weight in gold.

I might start selling replica stickers, for $500 a set. Sounds like a fair price for the real stradale look now doesn't it.

3600 GBP = $6,060.55 USD
Is a special type of paint? I know it's not uncommon for metallic car paint to go in excess of $200, but this is insane . . . . .

Maybe they do it meticulously and accurately, and therefore take a long time to do it, resulting in high labor charges?
