I just ordered a Stradale so I might be biased. But I really think upgrading from Modena to Stradale really makes a lot sense regardless of when the new 360 comes out. Think about it, the stuff that you get in a Stradale is really what a real race car needs. Light weight, large brake, great sound. In fact the specs is not much different from the 360 GT. I doubt even the new 360 will offer the same performance spec. Let's forget about when the new model will come, the Stradale is the closest race car you can get from Ferrari now, except ENZO of course. |

Ferrari won't necessarily care what other manufacturers are doing, assuming there remains a 360 list. It would be interesting to see Maranello's response if the Gallardo/Economy/et.al caused 360's to sit on dealer's floors. |

9500rpm redline? HELL YES!!! On the current car or the replacement? Did they give any timeframe for that? I haven't received this week's copy yet. Thanks |

"One thing that Ferrari needs to do is raise the redline on all 360s. If peak power occurs at 8500rpm, wouldn't the ideal shift point be around 9000rpm?" Only if the engine can take it for the requisite amount of time required to make it past the emissions lobby. |

The Autoweek article also stated Ferrari plans call for revising the engine program to allow a 9500 redline. I agree the 456 is next for a make over followed by the 575,360 and 360 Spider. If it follows that order the replacement date for the 360 will be closer to 2007. Thus all those on the waiting list for the 360 probably will get their cars.

Think about it: The 456GT came out in 1995 The 550 came out in 1997 The 360 Modena coupe in 1999 The 360 Spider in 2001 It only makes sense that the order of replacement will be 456-575-360 coupe-360 spider. Minor modifications and facelifts on existing cars like they did on the 348 Series Speciale, 355 Series Fiorano, 512M and such to keep them fresh.

I am constantly bouncing off the rev limiter in my car. I don't think we'll see a motor change until the current run of Stradales is done. That would take away one of the major incentives to buying that car. Look for 2005 at the earliest. |

Art-- Is it fair for me to assume that you've more than "heard" ? I've been following your posts re this subject since I e-mailed you about a year ago (as I'm in the same boat, i.e. hanging in limbo waiting for some kind of change to occur). I'm guessing that's what heading your way this "January". Private message me (if you want) Regards, Jake

I've heard that the 04s will be a little different, maybe new motor, maybe a few cosmetic changes. Art |

I think autoweek mentioned that the 360 would probably have the new motor installed previous to the all new car coming out. I can see a Face Lifted 360 with the 4.2 Engine prior to the all new model in 2007. Kind of like a 575 M until the new car appears in 2005. |

They can sell 360s for some more time, yes, but I don't know about 5 more years... I suspect a replacement will be out sooner than 2008. |

replacement will not be introduced until 2007. It will have a seven speed sequential gearbox presently being used by Schumacher in the F1-2003GA. It first I thought this report is nonsense. But the more I thought about it the more it makes sense. The 360 is still in high demand and clearly they can market this car for another 5 years with modifications. |
