I really like the diverse group of people. This site could be an extremely valuable resource for all black horse owners. After you post is there a way to monitor without always going to the original? I'm starting to forget the posts I answer.

Hi Gary
After using it for a while, let me know how it works. I am also looking into one for the B car, due to the uneven floor causing water drainage issues.

Tks
JH.

Eric,
Thanks very much for your comments! I have decided to try one from Northern Tools. It's the exact same one that Griot's sells, but for less $ and shipping.

Gary...I use the Griot's vinyl / ribbed floor mats under my cars in the garage, and they are terrific IMHO. They're easy to clean (slide them out once a month a wipe them down with Simple Green and paper towels), heavy enough to stay put (even when blowing the garage out under the cars), and the channels keep all the drip spots contained on the mat. They are also made of very durable heavy duty vinyl.

I purchased the smaller (7-1/2' x 17') gray ones for the garage cars, and a larger (9' x 20') black one for the car hauler. Can't comment on the Northern Tool mats, as I've never purchased one from them; but, if it's the same one and the price is better, then I'd go with the N.T. mats.

One word of caution: if you leave oily fluids on the mats for extended periods of time (like a few months) without cleaning them, it will cause the vinyl mats to bulge up / deteriorate due to the chemical reaction....ask me how I know.

Jim,
The one I am talking about from Griot's, doesn't "absorb" anything. It's a heavy duty vinyl material that has raised channels to capture water, etc. and it can be cleaned. Here's the one I'm talking about on Griot's site:

It's the exact same one that Northern Tool sells.

I have one of the little Griots mats to absorb the oil drips. I've already 'filled' one, am now on my second. It works great.

Is anyone using garage floor mats, such as the one Griot's Garage sells in their catalog? I'm thinking about buying some, because everytime I drive a wet car into my garage, the epoxy coated floor gets standing water/dirt pooling on it. These mats are supposed to capture water/snow, oil drips,muck,etc.. The best price I have found for a 17'x 7.5' gray mat is $124.95 at Northern Tool.

Any other recommendations??
