One of the most beautiful cars I have EVER SEEN!

Simply stunning. The 456 interior also is one of the best ever, in anything.

Pretty sure that's TAKO's color, CA Blue can look deeper depending on lighting. It's best in the witching hour, just before sunset! I've seen his car in person (sweet 360!) it looked about like that on a cloudy morning.

Best!
Ben.

Jay,

Looks like CA Blue in the shade. Same as Takao.

azzuro ferrari met. = california blue?... Tako's 360 is california blue and it looks a bit lighter in color.

thread on california blue:
http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/202841.html

perhaps it's the lighting conditions..? i'm a bit confused. oh well. either way, it's a gorgeous example of a 456GT. I hope you enjoy it a lot. the cayenne turbo you have has a few more horses though.. how's it holding up?

sorry if this is repetitive or naive, but I didn't see an indication as to the formal color.. is it TDF blue?... looks too dark to be azure (california blue).

Lovely car. That is the best color for a 456 IMHO. I would love to have a 456 but am scared of the maintenance and repair cost. Be sure you set aside $15k to $20k a year to maintain/repair it from what I've read and heard.

Ming,

HI !!!

OK. Here is something to piss Scott off. It is about the headlight motor again.

A fortnight ago the right headlight motor malfunctioned. When I switched on the headlights, the left one popped up, but the right one stayed down. And then when I switched off the lights, the left one went down, but the right one then popped up. It would have been funny had I not been concerned with the $$$s that this might entail. :-(

But it seems that after you leave the car for a while, the headlight motor will eventually correct itself.

I took the car to the dealer, they found nothing wrong with it. They thought it was a lubrication problem. So they returned the car to me.

Today, the same thing happened again. My fear is that after you leave it for a while, the problem will correct itself again, and so the dealer will again say that there is nothing wrong with it.

This time, I am taking pictures.

Both window seals were bad despite dealer saying these had been fixed. Passenger power seat is inoperable. Rear window has some seal problems I think, will have it checked out. Car seems to drive and shift nicely though.

Scott,

Congratulations and welcome to the club.

Do keep going in whetting people's appetite for the 456. Hopefully it will soon drive the prices up. :-)

I bet my 2 pennies that Ming will chime in soon.

Good to meet you too Chris. It was fun having a fellow car nut to check it out. I'm bringing it to Ferrari of Washington on Monday so I won't be swinging by then -- will let you know what they dig up. And I better get that headlight checked out too!!

Personally I think the 456 is one of the most elegant Ferraris ever. I have only ever seen one moving under it's own steam, and it was a dark blue. Look great.

I wouldn't mind owning one myself, espcially with the 2+2 seats, but I'll keep dreaming of a 365GT/4 2+2 ...

Good luck

Spectacular car. Simply spectacular.

As you probably know, When this car came out and was tested by the most popular car mag in England, it was called 'the most desirable car in the world...'

Had some problems with it but the selling dealer says he will take care of them. Here are the first (not so great) pics. Hope to get some good shots this weekend. It's a 95. First Ferrari (have 2 Porsches):
