Jon makes some great points, we must also pray for those who were there, it is my understanding that there was some shuffling as to who was going to be a passenger on that particular run, survivor's guilty is a very heavy burden.

Rob -
Please consider adding the details of the FChat remembrance to your monthly update email so we do not miss and have one authenticated source.

Still reflecting on Amar and Jens,
many thanks

I've been away for several days also, and just caught up. I am sick about this. I'm just staring at the screen. I would also like to contribute to this memorial. Rob, please keep their profiles up. Maybe the memorial page should have Jen's sign off...

I have not been online for a few days and was shocked to hear what happened. Took a bit of navigation to find out what was going on. No words that I can use could describe what an awful thing this is or the feeling I got in my stomach as I read. I also would like to contribute in some way. Please keep me updated. If it helps anyone on this board, just remember, if you believe in God, know that they are OK. My condolences to their family's. I may have missed it, but does anyone know if either one of them had any children. If they did, maybe we could do something for them as well.

Like Ton said, it sure is a great comfort to see so many sharing the same feelings. It's really been a help these days reading Fchat.

The one thing that makes me furious is to see people making ignorant and stupid treads about the accident.

Nobody saw it happen, nobody was in the car while it happend and even though some of us were there, also we don't know what happend.
Stop being a idiot by trying to find out what happend since it's all based on speculations and suggestions.

Let it go and keep the positive memories alive.

BTW Rob,

Please don't delete their profiles. The least we could do, is keep them around here.

Jon,

Beckar was not there. It is indeed a big shock for all the friends that were present. It will take a while to get over it. But all these wonderful responses on this board give some comfort.

I have just gotten back in town and I am truely shocked, saddened, and at the same time at an extreme loss of words. I have conversed with Jens many times over this forum and actually talked with him by phone a year ago when he was considering some suspension mods to his car.

Although I don't know Amar I share the same belief as most here that this is like your "home community" or neighborhood. I belong to several other car forums that are connected with either a car I drive or race and yet those forums don't have the sense of community that F-Chat does.

In addition to keeping Jens and Amar's friends an family in our prayers I would ask that you also consider the mouring and sorrow of those F Chatters who were either present the day of the accident or shortly beforehand.

I saw that Beckar Cuellar was on the attendance list. Beckar lives in the same area I do and we have attended the same track days on many occasion. Beckar if you were present that day my prayers are with you as well.

Two years ago I was behind a friend/acquiantance at the track coming down the main straigth. He lost his brakes and was killed. While all of us here on the forum are extremely sad for Jens and Amar and his family we must not forget the F chatters who may have seen this happen.

I can tell you from experience that it takes quite a while to get over something like this, but even more so when you see it happen.

We are not F1 racers, we don't get paid $50 million to do this, we are simply passionate enthusiasts who share a common interest and choose to drive our cars as they were meant to be driven and then have fun talking together at the end of the day over a few beers.

We all will die someday and we have little control when that day will be. Jens and Amar died doing something they were extremely passionate about.

If heaven is truely a better place than where we are right now then I have no dount that Jens and Amar are blazing around God's race track in their Enzos.

I'm in as well. Just let me know where to send it. Though I never knew either of them I feel terrible that this has happened. Things like this are never expected until they happen. May they rest in peace.

Here is an update....

Rob is going to call his contact at Forza and see what the cost will be for the ad.

I have had a response from a board member who is a graphic designer and he is willing to help out so maybe we can get a nice design without using a ad agency.

I will try to get a PayPal account set up quickly so that we can get donations flowing. (I am moving next weekend and I am feverishly trying to pack in the evenings after work).

As soon as I get an estimate of cost, I will let everyone know.

Wolfgang, a 'Trauerkranz' is a reef I think. Would be most fitting to have one in FChat's name.

Keep you head up, Jens and Amar are now with Enzo, Dino, Alboreto and others. Maybe that thought helps.

Alles Gute.

Ken,
Thanks for suggesting such a wonderful tribute. Although I never met these men, our mutual interests in the Ferrari community have brought us together as a family. I can't describe my sense of loss. Please post the details on contirbuting to the tribute.
Gentlemen, you will be missed.

Tom, I can talk with Rob and see what he would like, since this community is his brain child. I would not want to create anything that puts FChat in a bad light.

Matt, let's wait to contact Ferrari legal until we decide on an ad format. No need to talk to them if we decide not to use any logos.

Jonas, a little statement about each man might be nice, but as for a brief description of what happened, I really dont think that should be a part of the ad - could seem a bit too callous sort of like a news brief. Just my 2c, but suggestions are always welcome.

Ton & Wolfgang - Amar and I worked for competing multi-national consulting firms. I assume that his details are posted in line 9 of this spreadsheet:

http://www.eurocontrol.int/cba/studies/cbaguide/cbalist.xls

If this is indeed his firm, then the contact details are here:

http://www.adlittle.uk.com/about/default.asp?content=locations

...these contacts may be useful if we wish to get in contact with Amar's family.

Regards, MARK

TomD,

Exactly, but I think it would be great if we wrote a little something besides that. "Jens was a very positive and happy man etc." and also with Amar. And then a brief description of what happened.
