Fontanta isn't really that far from Atlanta, so maybe a posting in the Alabama / Georgia section will generate some interest as well.

It would be great to get a couple of chapters together.

I'm from Knoxville and would like to start getting together with Ferrari owners from East Tn to drive some of our great roads. Unfortunately I will be racing at VIR that weekend. Please keep me in mind in the future.

Hey, as much as anything, this is just a good a place as any to get together. I don't plan on practicing my F1 moves on an open road (or in a '78 308 with 14" rims). From what I remember, many of the curves will give you a run for the money AT the posted speed limit.

We really need to plan some of these things up here in East Tennessee. Maybe some time later, we could meet up at Sugarlands and give the tourists something to talk about, then drive leisurely over to Townsend or something.

Anybody else see that police sting video were they nailed all the sportbike guys crossing the middle line? Funny thing was tons of cars were too and they didn't do anything to them.

Wont catch me going there. Ive heard the local nazi's are so down on that stretch its like a trooper convention. There are plenty of good roads in the mountains that are not the primary source of road tax revenue for the region.

Drive cautiously. I've heard that there is a new lower speed limit posted and that the stretch is now more heavily patrolled. Also heard that the local constabulary are on a confiscation kick as well.

Steve: Barring any unforeseen natural disasters, I'll be there! BTW, good luck on the TR tune-up.

If you're interested, I'd be happy to recommend my mechanic in Maryville who works on Italians. I don't know for sure if he's done 12-cyl. cars, but I know he has worked on several 8's in the area, including bringing my down-for-3-years 308 roaring back too life with clutch, valve adjust, water pump, carb adjust, flywheel resurface, hose replacements, etc. He does mostly Volvo's, but drives an Alfa and loves anything Italian. I think his hourly is $56/hr. He's really honest, too, though from what I've heard, Ferrari of Atlanta is honest and reliable, just $$$.

I'm wondering if anyone is interested in driving Deals Gap (Tail of the Dragon) US 129 on July 12th? Those of us in east Tennessee could potentially meet in Maryville in the morning for breakfast and then head up. I checked several web sites and didn't see any other "events" for sport bikes, Miatas, or others that weekend.
