If you click on my profile you will see the HRE wheels mentioned by Russ. These were polished aluminum. Since sold the 83 Mondial but loved those wheels.

These wheels apparently come with proper offset and lug pattern for 308s, 328s and Mondials. They do look very similar to F550 style wheels. They are offered here in the US by SL Competition in Georgia (www.garedcars.com). I like them, and would probably put them on my own car if they were available in 17" wheels.

I already use the "upsized" tire sizes that you mentioned on my 308QV, which is a noticeable improvement, especially at the track.

Mario -
Great photo in your profile.
Went through the same thing a few years ago. Your 83 does not have ABS (concave wheel offsets) so there are many possibilities as you have more standard offsets. You are absolutely correct that the best thing you can do for your Mondial is wheels and newer technology tires - the results are incredible.
I went with Speedline (see my profile for pic). They are OEM for Ferrari, and I was told while I was in Europe that they have access to Ferrari engineeing data and their wheels were a great choice. In Germany, they were even offered as a dealer option on Ferraris, and you see many European cars with these Speedlines fitted. I think a 17" Speedline wheel is about perfect for the car.
Would recommend you do a search on theis board and look for members with Mondials - many have aftermarket wheels and photos so you can shop around.
My other favorite wheel is the HRE wheel that looks like perfect replica of a 288GTO wheel. Robert Garvin has a set he is not using (see discontinued Momo steering wheel thread in tech section) but they are expensive. There is a board member with these fitted to his Mondial and they look great - you will see it if you go through the profiles.
Another option for you in Jolly Ol' would be Compomotive - they make some nice Ferrari wheels as well, although the last time I was on their website they were hard to find.
While I like a more 70s-80s period look as compared with the M11, everybody's different, so get something you like - but you can't go wrong updating the tires.
Hope this helps and please post a picture when you get them.
Have fun and good luck
Russ

They look great.. but be careful about the offset. Mondy's have a very strange offset measurement. Or is it inset...?

Hi Guys,

What do think of these wheels? I've got a 1983 Mondial with tired looking original 240/390 TRX wheels I've been thinking of replacing them with some new alloys as the TRX tyres are both hard to get and ancient technology The new wheels are called MM11 momobloc wheels 7x16 front and 8x16 rear fitted with Goodyear F1 ZR tyres Size 225.50.16 front and 245.45.16 rear. I have been told "These will maintain the correct rolling radius and give the car a more "Sporty" look and feel to the drive of the car." I've also been told the wheels accept the Ferrari centre caps. Have any of you guys fitted these, especially to Mondials if so I'd like to hear of your experiences. Here is a picture of the MM11.

Cheers,
