Nice looking car Jerry.

For information, I've looked up the spoiler and the catalog doesn't call it Euro, but Deep Spoiler, #61182900.

$1645...ouch ! Looks so much better than the standard one though !!

Regards.

The main difference is that with these new springs you get a stiffer ride, which I love. As of yet, I have not hit the spoiler because there is so little "bounce" with these new springs. The main cause of concern would be elevated parking lot/driveway approaches, which I am very careful of.

Here's a way to do the height thing with stock springs, though it wouldn't change the ride quality. It shows it for the fronts, but I supposed it would work similarly at the rears.

Jerry: I have enough trouble keeping my long spoiler out of trouble. I do like the look of your lowered car, but I know I'd be scraping from time to time! And I just had my spoiler rebuilt and refinished a couple of months ago.

As far as my roof panel, almost no filler, the body shop just sanded down the cast grain until smooth.

Mike, I love your roof painted body color and smooth. How did you do it? Basic body filler?

Mike, I do have the low Euro spoiler. Barry, I think I agree with you, I just wanted a 2nd opinion. Dave, thanks for the compliment. The shocks were rebuilt to factory specs and I don't remember the rates on the springs as my invoice does not say. They are definitely heavier than stock. All I can say is contact QV London and they will tell you what works best, like they told me.

Jerry your car looks great! Did you have heavier oil put in your shocks? Did you have them revalve your shocks? Did you go heavier springs than stock if so what rates did you go to? Did you do anything to your steering rack?

Yeah, it would be too much, Jerry. Now, if you had flared-out fenders, then those mirrors would look real fine!

I can't tell from your picture, but I bet you don't have a long euro front spoiler?

What are your opinions on me putting 288 GTO "flag" mirrors on the car? Too much? Thanks.

I got the springs from QV London, e-mail address is [email protected]. The springs were 160 pounds and frt. was 38 lbs. for a total of 198 lbs. This translated to $315.08. All I said was that I wanted to drop my 308 by about 1" at all corners and they knew exactly what to send me. True Choice made no adjustments to my perches. It actually takes dips in the road BETTER now than when it was higher. In other words, it will not bounce down like it used to and the ride is of course somewhat stiffer, but still very comfortable. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it is to drive it after these mods....especially with the TUBI sound!!!

Jerry W. -- Please do post your 308 spring source information/details while it's still fresh in your mind (so it will be saved in the Archive for others in the future). Looks like they did a great job getting the stiffness vs free length correct to put the coachwork in the right place -- did you have to give them the exact engineering info or did they know it themselves (or did Truechoice add adjustable lower perches to your Konis)?

Sent them out to True Choice. They are not cheap and they took 8 weeks to get them back to me, but hopefully they did good work....time will tell.

Thanks for the compliments guys. My mistake, I meant that I bought new SPRINGS from the UK. I will post their name and number if you are interested after I get home. The price was very reasonable...I think around $400.00 for all 4.

What a sexy looking car! Ferrari has simply not managed to design a prettier car since the 308/328.
I have BBS modulars (original forged racing wheels) on my gtbi but your Gotti wheels look even better. Really nice car.

Henry, no, I do plan to put them on, just haven't gotten to it. I was one of the first to join in that "group buy" so I was lucky enough to receive the full "correct" set, but I understand the problem for most of the group on that one.

Do you want to sell your ES bushings?

If you bought new shocks from the UK, why did you have them rebuilt? They weren't ok as-is new?

I've got a set of ES bushing for all four corners of my car, but haven't had them installed yet.

I bought new shocks from the UK. Also new ES bushings, A-arms sandblasted and urethane painted and had shocks rebuilt. The car rides like a dream! Much better handling than before. I HIGHLY recommend this procedure for any 308 owner who wants a better ride and improved looks from the lower stance.Upload
