You can pre booked to see the factory through Ferrari North America. I know it can be done because a few of my friends have done it. You need to e-mail Myra Rodriguez at FNA. Her e-mail address is [email protected] She will send a Factory Request Form that will need to be filled out. She will need proof of ownershp of your Ferrari. Her fax number is 201.541.8488. She will need to know what month you want togo and how many are going. Please note, You can only goto the Ferrari factory through a Ferrari dealership or this way. You need to own a Ferrari, but you can take as many friends as you want. If you do not own one, let your friend with a Ferrari book then. I hope this helps you out. The Ferrari dealerships are a pain and the UK FOC is to expensive.

You can also use Planet Hotel, just oposite of the factory gate in the same complex as the new Ferrari Store. www.planethotel.org Get a room 05 or 06 line. If you e-mail them ask specifically for that room. The 06 is probably the best. 4th of 3rd floor. Great view over the factory and gate. Little more expensive than Europa but worth it if you ask me. Great breakfast bar (for Euro standard) Also read the FORZA article in last years Otober or November issue about a trip to Maranello without a factory tour. If you are able to setup a tour, brace yourself. it is entering the holy grail. WOOOOOOOOHAAAAAAA |

5{u do not have to be an owner to get a factory tour. That certainly works, or you have to be very good friends with a Ferrari dealer. My local dealer got not only my wife and I but my friend and his wife (who don't own a Ferrari) into the tour. Having said that, at the time I was a very serious shopper, and I think the dealer realized that I would be an owner soon. |

andrew- i was just in maranello, and will try and answer your questions. >>haven't really looked into it yet, but how easy is it to get a factory tour? I don't own any Italian cars btw.<< You cannot get a ferrari factory tour w/out being an owner; this has to be arranged through an authorized dealer, and you must furnish the vin # of the car you own, or you've got to have a gift of gab (read: be an amazing bullshiter). That said there's stil a lot to see, ferrari-wise, hanging out at the back gate you see all kinds of ferrari roll out. Down the street you'll hear the f1 cars romping aroun fiorano; amazing experience, and you can get w/ in a stones throw of the track --behind a fence-- for free, spent a lot of time just watching. Then there's the various stores, museums, and, of course, restaurants... montana ristorante is a must. excellent food, but show up early. >>Is there lots to do in the town? I guess there are Ferrari museums and showrooms that the public can visit. Like I've said above there's: stores, the factory gates, the retaurants, the museums, and the peripheral factories (i.e., lambo, paganini, etc.) >>How many days would you recommend?<< I'd say, depending on how involved you'd like to get, and how deeply you want to look around 2 days should be good. Hotel Europa (Hotel Europa, Via Mediterraneo, 11/13 single 40,00/47,00 double 68,00 Tel. 0536/940440 Fax: 0536/941612) is nice, it's 3 star, big rooms w/ breakfast, and is about 5 minutes from the factory. >>How far away is Sant Agata for Lamborghini?<< About 30 minutes. Any more advice or recommendations would be gratefully recieved.

Andrew R, You need to be a Ferrari owner to get a factory tour. Once you have one then arrange the tour thru your local Ferrari dealer and if one is not nearby contact Ferrari North America. The lambo factory is very close to Maranello about, I can't remember exactly, 1.5 - 2 hrs by car. There's tons of stuff to do there, the Galleria, shops, Cavallino and Montana Rest, shops, etc... |

I believe there's a write-up in the current EVO or Car (Enzo on the cover) magazine about things to do while visiting Maranello. It's a pretty decent article. Enjoy! |

A friend and I are interested in flying out to Italy to visit the home of Ferrari, and also visiting the Lamborghini and Pagani factories. I haven't really looked into it yet, but how easy is it to get a factory tour? I don't own any Italian cars btw. Is there lots to do in the town? I guess there are Ferrari museums and showrooms that the public can visit. How many days would you recommend? How far away is Sant Agata for Lamborghini? Any more advice or recommendations would be gratefully recieved. Cheers all! Andy |
