Ken, thank for pics. Oh no, that's Dino? I cannot see it...... If someone tell me its' modified Miata, I would believe it. Skyline GT-R is a nice car, but styling doesn't appeal to me. It is interesting to hear that kids cares numbers. When I was a kid, all I cared in cars was looks. I guess I still am.

Ok, here's the only good pic I could find of the Dino:
It's too bad I don't have pictures of the engine... it's sweet. ...and here's a pic of the Skyline taken by someone else while I was there:

Personally, I'd look at both, but in dissent I don't think it's really an acute excercise in demographics -lumping up together all "kids" into one blob- to assume that none of them had much interest; what if they didn't know what it was? Fair question, but the other side of the argument is that, frankly, not a lot of people are REALLY into cars, and I mean REALLY into them... you wont find a lot of people that have an equal appreciation for contemporary exotics, sports cars, and also a love for modern sedans, nor will you really find someone thats just as infatuated with porsches, ferraris, lambos, and also big block american iron. In all actuality, there aren't many people that've read all there is to be read about the enzo, but would be in heaven if they got the chance to mash around in a race prepped shelby GT500. Not a lot of parents convey upon their children, much less foster, a "spiritual" love and respect for all the 4 wheeled people movers we're collectivly obsessed with. I would have loved to see both, and the Dino sounds the business, but so is the skyline, and coincidentally enough, both are "icons" of their respective "eras". hubert. |

Well, I'm in my 30s, lived in Japan for six years and the rest of the time in California. I've seen dozens of Dinos but have never seen an actual Skyline GT-R in person. So I might take a look at it and certainly wouldn't mind driving it. But I don't particularly like modern cars, be they Italian or Japanese or German and of course the Dino is my first love so... |

Wyatt, I'm 14 and I've noticed that happening among a lot of my friends. They all only care about top speed and acceleration, and power ratings. They were all going crazy over the cadillac sixteen and its 1000HP V16 engine just because it had 1000HP. I would have have given my attention to the Dino first, then maybe peeked at the skyline for a second if those other people moved away. |

I'd be checking out the Dino myself. Skyline's don't do anything for me. They may be fast but they look like a family car to me. Most japanese cars suffer from the same thing.Lack of character. |

I am only 15, and would spend time admiring both cars. I think most kids only care about stats, like speed, accelerating, etc... Not class, beauty, style and personality such as a Ferrari displays. |

Strangely enough, I get more thumbs up, waves, and giant smiles from kids under 12 years old. I had a couple of Girl Scouts, approx. 10-11 years old, going berzerk over my car onetime, and the weird thing is, they knew exactly what it was! It blows me away that kids who were born nearly 10 years after my car was built know what it is and appreciate it. Point: Ferrari's are magical beasts - mesmerizing to the young and old. |

I was at one of the local import-tuner speed shops, and the owner's black all-race Dino is parked in front. Stripped all-aluminum interior, roll cage, slicks, beefy suspension, and a race-prepped 328 motor with carbs and stacks. Beautiful. Two cars over, there's an R32 Skyline GT-R that looked completely stock as far as I could tell. There's a crowd of kids standing around the Skyline, and I'm the only one admiring the Dino. Kids nowadays.... |
