You can erase a fault code by grounding pin #1 on the diagnostic plug for between 5 and 10 seconds. |

I had the same problem. At 3000 miles the previous owner jump started it and coincidentaly it happened after that. The dealer told me it was a bad ECU and cost 1500.00 to replace with labor. (97 355 spider) |

My 355 has 15k miles. Pino,my car's battery did discharge and had to be recharged, but it wasn't jump started. The light was on when it came back from a main dealer here in London (good service , eh!) |

Most "Normal Car" air bags are disarmed when the warning lamp is on and should be OK to drive. I see them every day on and in most cases it costs more to repair than the customer is willing to pay. |

Julian, I had a problem with my Airbag Lamp ('98 F355). It came on when the car was started with a weak battery. This indeed was the code stored in the ECU. The lamp will only go out by reseting it with the SD1 tool. I must warn you, however, a bad Airbag ECU is not unheard of on F355's. Especially if the car was jump started because of said weak battery. Jump starting is a definate "no-no" on these cars. |

I would recommend you stop driving it and have someone take a look. Apparently airbag faults are rare (I don't know about the specific situation with F355s) but you dont want that thing inflating while your driving down the Motorway at 150mph....... I personally think it is likely to be a genuine fault...but then again, what do I know...? |

The airbag warning light on my 355 f1 spider keeps coming on, I've tried re-initialising the electrical system by starting up and leaving it for 20 mins, but no effect. Anyone had a similar problem? |
