Rob, I agree with you, Kenny has done a great job and it appears he will be successful in pursuing a network of other car sites. I also feel that it was very nice of him to offer his suggestions to the Ferrari Chat Line. The F.C. is doing so well with its basic format that the members seem to be very content with the set up. I feel that it is better that we continue with the way it is set up at this time unless you see something which would make the site better for the future. Just my observation. Thanks Kenny. BRGDS. Just to clear up any confusion, if there is any. Kenny is not associated with FerrariChat.com, except that he's a user like everyone else. I told Kenny I'm open to any suggestions and if he wanted to experiment with designs, then I would be more than happy to look them over. I plan on always making this site better, but I agree with most people about keeping it simple. That's why the forum is the focus, that's why the ads are small, and that's why there isn't too much other clutter. I still like having the Trivia and Research sections, because that's fun to add stuff to over time. I like several parts of Kenny's design and will think about them when I do any redesigns. However, you're not going to see any major abrupt changes. I wish Kenny the best of luck with his site, I think he has some good ideas. |

Thank you very much for the feedback. I have just recently registered the domain names: exoticcarnet.com exoticcarnetwork.com exoticcarforums.com exoticcarforum.com And will be creating a huge network of exotic car sites, as well as bringing hundreds of members from carforums.com to my server. The goal of the site is to have articles written by the enthusiast and owner. Dealers will be able to advertise for free on the site on the condition that they send me their sales reports every 2 weeks; the hottest color car selling, the hottest car, number sold, average price i.e. Great advertising! Email me if you are interested, Kenny [email protected] |

Kenny, I like some of the features your design offers - especially the pictures and the side stories. It's fun to have different options do "play" with when visiting at your leasure. However, for me, when I visit this site I usually (not always) just want to get "in & out" quickly, and for that reason I love the simplicity of this current design. I appreciate your talent, however, (and please do not take this personally) your design looks very much like most all of the other chat sites out there. It's "fancy" but, in my opinion, a bit TOO much going on. Again, and as others have stated, I really like the ease of this current site, although I wouldn't be adverse to a few changes/new features. Just please keep it easy to access the chat area, as, for me, that makes it much more enjoyable - which is important because I too am addicted! |

MAgoo, what I meant was that the banner where it says Ferrarichat.com could be used for the ad banner, bigger,, more visible that the current one. That will make it more interesting for Rob's clients to consider advertising! Kenny; I have a basic layou´t. A friend of mine will get this all set up in Pagemaker and I will see if that fits. I do not believe much in the internet as a "seller". All you do is get basic information for the internet but the sale is done by phone and in wiriting (fax, e-mail). Interesting enough, these two are new media forms created in the last 12 years! I may take you up on that offer though if that site does not look what I want it to look. Peter I am with you when it comes to addiction! |

What I am concidering right now is that I will set up an exotic car page-cars in general...If anyone is interested in helping/investing- email me at [email protected], we will have a lot of backing in the industry. Any ideas? |

Good job Kenny. As for discussion/chat rooms. My avaliable time on the computer is spent at this site, plus going through my Ferrarilist mailings (which, if I don't check everyday, accumulates expotentially it seems. Once, after not checking on a long, holiday weekend, had 300+ mailings waiting for me!). For whatever reasons, Expensivecar.com forums got cancelled. At one time, even Nick Scianna had his own chatroom (which I have no idea if its still up). We got FC, it works and people enjoy coming here. I know I do, I'm addicted to this place. |

Martin, I don't understand when you say "Might be easier to get advertising on this site of Kenny!" |

Kenny, That is an awesome site! Man, I wish I would have that tallent. I am trying to get my new dealership website done and it is okay but nowhere near close to this. Very gifted. Anyway, I have no real opinion on this. I like both sites. Might be easier to get advertiseing on this site of Kenny! Just my 2c. |

Kenny, Don't get me wrong what you have done is a beautiful job. The only thing is that the way the chat line is set up it gets the job done without all the artistic charm. Again simple but effective. Magoo |

After more thinking on this subject I feel that the simple and straight forward approach has made this site unique. Get right to the main issues that you want to address and comment to each other one on one. Magoo |

Thanks for the feedback... Like I told Rob, " I didn't plan on making any sort of many or recieve any compensation for this page. I love cars, plain and simple. I thought that this design might make it easier to implement different features like a reviews page, news and an owners gallery. I am not in it for the money." I just thought that this could benefit the FC community. It is extremely easy to minipulate PHP, and it takes almost no time whatsoever. What else? |

I don't want to make drastic changes to the foundation of the site, I like the current message board engine we're using. However, I'm very open to design changes and also people contributing content. This is our site, not my site. I told Kenny that if he wants to offer new ideas, then I'm more than willing to check them out. I would only make changes that were popular. Like Magoo said, I want to keep the site simple and straight forward. Offer feedback on the parts of Kenny's site you like and I'll look at implementing that into FerrariChat.com, but I'm not going to make drastic changes. |

I will also say that the design of the Herman site is done professionally. However The F.C. line works well as it now set up as was Rob's intention I'm sure. If Rob sees a way to incorporate this with our existing set up then so be it and I would support his change. However, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." |

Interesting ideas. Looks like it would require more maintenance to keep it up to date with new articles etc. What keeps this site so interesting is that everyone maintains it, with current topics, opinions etc. I don't like those sites that have the same darn thing up every time you go to it. After a while, I find somewhere else to go. I also like the New Messages tab in the current FC. I couldn't find that option in the Herman version. Nice piece of work though. |

What the hell brought this up. Rob do you think this is a good idea? What we have now under Rob's direction is good enough for me. It may not have as many frills and bells and whistles but it gets the job done in communication between F.C. members. Keep it simple and to the point. MAGOO |

Its pretty good, but the topics page is a bit of a pain in the ass. It has some nice features, such as the "members online" thing. Also, will posting be like it is now with a box on the bottom to type a message? |

With the permission of Rob, and the cooperation of the rest of the FerrariChat.com members, this could possibly be the new site design: http://www.kenny.thehermanfamily.com/nuke/html/ Please check out the design and tell me what you think- I still have a lot of changes to make. The added functuality should make the difference in the future of this site... Again, this isn't to replace ferrarichat- this is going to BE ferrarichat.. Please post your opinions! |
