Okay, I'll do some scanning ... and hopefully kill some rogue processes and then uninstall some stuff. Did not think it was FerrariChat, now I know for sure. Thanks everybody! Pete |

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/TNZ059.php?warncounty=TNC187&city=Brentwood This site is a great alternative to for-profit weather services; no pop ups... Of course, you can customize it for your own town - |

No pop ups from Ferrarichat.com. As Jack said there are "exit" pop ups that make it look like the pop up is coming from the new site you are going to. If they are appearing as you are on FC then it's coming from those ride along programs. I did a scan with some software like have been recomended here and it found 30 or so rogue programs running. |

Heck, while you are at it, get the free Zone Alarm personal firewall Enjoy the Music (Kraftwerk "Computer Love" right now, but soon...), Steven R. I don't get it from F chat but I do get on my MSN home page, Kazaa, other sites I visit. Damn, I'm getting sick of it. Are there any other pop up removers that I need to know about? |

Careful with Mozilla... It has adware contents, i.e. relayes your surfing behaviour to marketing companies. Jack |

the only popups i get are from ie crashing from the java ads. netscrape 7.x also blocks popups and the new google toolbar supposedly does. You might alos be getting hit with 'exitstitials' from other sites which pop when you leave their domain, and as another suggested, you might have some crap like gator or whatever installed that is tossing them here and there.

Check out Mozilla... www.mozilla.org. It has a popup blocker built right in.

If you are running some of the newer Windows operating systems, disabling the Messenger Service from Control Panel -> Services also helps with the pop-ups. It won't affect anything else, except the sysadmin's ability to make a message pop up on your screen, so it's safe to disable unless you're on a network where sysadmins message you in this intrusive manner. |

Get AdMuncher from www.admuncher.com that takes care of pop ups quite nicely! And gets rid of other ads you might not want too. |

well, i downloaded kazaa recently on a new PC, and it is now installing a pop up ad ride-along program along with it. I forgot its name, but ads were coming on whether my brower was up or not. I uninstalled the popup program and the problem was gone. Ernesto |

No pop-ups coming from Ferrarichat.com as far as I know... Do they only happen when you get here when you are coming from another site or also halfway through a "session"? If they occur when you get here from another site they could be "exit" pop-ups from that site. Jack |
