I love the styling of the 1972 Daytona, especially in yellow.

While I agree with what Dave stated, let me suggest another perspective on the responses...

I think there are basically 3 styles of Ferrari... they probably have better names, but I'll call'em as I see'em:

angular: 288 GTO, 308, 328, 348, 355, TR, 512M
round-mid-engine: 250TR, 330P, 246GT, F50, 360
round-front-engine: 250GTO, 365GTB4, 456, 550

I think people often tend to prefer one of the three styles over the others.
For me, mid-engine screams racecar more than front-engine... and I prefer the more rounded styling.
My brother, OTOH, though he prefers the mid-engine like me, he prefers the more angular styling of the Testarossa or 512's.
Others on this list are obviously front-engine biased.

Obviously not a black-and-white issue; just an observation on the grays.

Dave, your observations are keen. I also love the 360 styling even though I'd buy a 550 if i had the means because it's a 12. I'm one of the grey beards who love the 246 and the 288GTO.

You have to pity 365/400 series and Mondials. Where are the votes for 348's? I know there are lots of 348 lovers on here.

My vote:
288 GTO because it's a 308 on heavy steroids and I want one.
328 GTB because I have one.

Here's an observation from outside of chat. Graybeards like me tend to like 206-246-308-328 series. Younger folks like the newer cars and are especially blown away by the 360. Here's a long range prediction: The Dino series will always be popular but there are so many of them, prices probably won't go anywhere. 10-20 years from now when today's youth have the means, I think the 360 will be the car. The design breaks new ground and just screams "Italian exotic". I think the 348-355 series will fall through the cracks. They remind me of turtles for some reason, not exotics. Let the discussion/argumants begin!

Gotta be the 288 GTO! Why doesn't somebody buy my 288 GTO conversion parts on the "for sale" section of the sight? Ha ha. Shameless plug. Seriously though, my favorite F-car by far.

I guess the 288 GTO won....That gives a nice compliment to the taste of 308 GTB/GTS and 328 owners.

I think your'e rigt Marv. The Daytona was such a popular car that most people forget the GTC/4 exists. I only know of 3 or 4 here in OZ, and I think they may have only made about 50 RHD. I may stand corrected on that figure. It's 1:30 am here and I can't be bothered looking it up.

I think that the problem with the 365 GTC/4 is that it is less well known than other cars of that era. I'm pretty sure that less numbers were made of those so its much more rare. This probably accounts for its poor showing. Personally, I wouldnt mind having one.

The 365GTC/4 is also bringing up the rear, unfortunately. I reckon it has great lines, that make it that bit more beautiful than the Daytona

Mondial - 1
Hot girl from school named Ferrari - 1 **

** Perhaps if you post a pic of her she may have gotten more votes :-)

Testarossa/512TR/512M - 21
355/355 spider - 18
365 GTB/4,GTS/4 - 17 **

F40 - 14
f50 - 12

** I believe that the 365GTB/4,365GTS/4 is the only one above that would also have votes in the pre '70 poll? Correct me if i'm wrong. This tally only includes posts in this poll.

4) Daytona Coupe (more macho than spyder)
5) 328 (Like the shape)
6) 308 (Before I had the TR I had always wanted the 308)

There was this really hot girl back in high school whose last name, of all things, was Ferrari. That alone made me nuts about her! So, therefore my ranking would be:

1)288 GTO
2)Hot girl from school.

BTW, the car's looks have held up muuuuuuch better.

Oh, and thanks for the photos Marcus.

I saw an F50 at the MGM Grand in Vegas a couple of years back driving in the lot... I was in a cab at the time but after I pointed out to all the non-ferraris what it was, they were stunned. Pure art, still can't get over how big the thing is.. I WANT ONE NOW.

Marcus - I saw the F50 on the streets of Stockholm. I could hardly believe what I saw. First I got this incredible adrenaline rush. Then, when I had taken some shots and the car had gone away I got in a minor state of shock. Now its been 24 hours and I still find it hard to accept. Questions like "Maybe it was just a kit car" (it wasnt, I would have spotten it right away) keeps coming to my mind. Anyway, I will develop the pictures in the next week, cant wait any further than that.

Its amazing how a car sigthing can afflect a person so much. Im still puzzled about this. I thought I had grown up more than this. But this is what makes Ferraris so special. Its not about the age of the observer, its about the PASSION.

1. 512BB
2. F40
3. 288GTO
4. 308 GT4
5. Daytona Spider
6. 308 GTB/S up to 1984.

My main reasons are also for the looks of the interior. 512BB has the finest looking dashboard of any ferrari. The newer ferrari interiors look like fiat's, especially the TR's, Mondials and the 85 and up 328's. I cannot stand those dorky looking arm rest design on the 85 and up 328's. Phony looking black plastic knobs are cheesy looking.

If year were not an exception, beyond doubt, the 250LM is the most awesome looking of them all. Outrageous looking for an old car.

1. F40.
2. TR/512TR (dont like the 512M nose/hood job too much). If you modify the TR to look like the Koenig TR, then I will definitely move the TR up the scale next to the F40.

Well, if I had to narrow it down, I'd have to go with the 308. Everyone knows it is a Ferrari. You cannot beat the gorgeous appearance of the GTO. TO the untrained eye, it looks like a 308.

The 246 just looks so distinctive. There's really nothing that compares. And I agree it looks better as a coupe. Just a great looking one. Also on my list are the TR and 308 GTB. The TR and 246 are the cars I'm always looking at for a second Ferrari. My top of those 3 would be the TR. I love the lines.

C'mon guys, You know the GTS 308s and 328s have to be in there near or at the top. In my opinion at the top.

The sexiest of all to my eyes is the 288GTO -- its like the ultimate F-car look. Second only to the TR and the F40 which are a close second almost a tie.

The new 575M. The 288 GTO. The F40. The F50.

The 288 GTO lines are the final, beautiful results of what the 246 started.

I forgot about the 288GTO, that would definately be up there on the list. It looks like a shark (so does the 550) it must be thouse side slits.

I think my vote would go for the 246 GT also, but it would be very very closely followed by the 288 GTO.

Me personally, and I know some of the purists will comment, the 360 Modena, is by far and away my favorite. However, the F40 and the 288 GTO are an equal tie.

BTW, I saw a 288 GTO driving on the street, I couldn't believe the presence that the car had on the street, unbelivable. I can't even imagine seeing an F40 looming on a city street.

Those things are F-ing hideous, what the hell are you thinking?!?! (There you got what you wanted)
Seriously though, i think the F355 or the 512tr is the most beautiful, or maybe the F50, it looks so sleek. Its close. I would say the F40, but it looks too mean. Its one of the best looking things to come from pinninfarina. I know im gonna hear it for this, but i think the 360 is beautiful too. Its too hard to choose just one.

My vote....246 GT...The coupe, not the spider.....smoother lines.........gorgeous and it was the shape that Pininfarina used to create the #2 best design with the 308 GTB.....This is my opinion and I fully expect (and hope) others will trash it.....
