Rikki - my shields, both on my Saturn & Kawasaki, are on the side fenders, where they'd be if the [Saturn] were an actual Ferrari... It's been dubbed the Scuderia Imitazione... No official name yet, for the Ninja... |

Personally I'm a huge NSX fan. It's just a great great car. Of course, it does need a few touches (exhaust, seats), but it's a brilliantly sorted car. I prefer the older pop-up headlights to the new one, but that's me. --Dan |

Considering that Honda consulted extensively with Pininfarina during the design of the NSX, is it really surprising that the car might have similarites to Ferrari? Performance/handling wise, the end result even outperformed the entry level Ferrari of the day, the 348. Yet it's still a "wanna be" in some F-car owners eyes. I honestly have to wonder if the people who make such comments would always say this no matter how good a non-Fcar might become. It's that Italian heritage I guess?? Speaking of heritage, did you know the Enzo was designed by a Japanese guy? See here: http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=29&article_id=4667

I'd be happy with just an NSX... No need to fake anything else. |

BB, I understood it, and actually thought it was all in good fun. I posted the sighting to the Ferrarilist and it was interesting to see the responses. Many thought it was typical of non F-car owners, who are just a little too insecure of what they have. They were in agreement, that the NSX IS a terrific car in it's own right, but too dmuch an F-car wanna be in the styling dept. Someone stated "you're never going to see a Ferrari with "Soichirowho" on the plate..." Too many letters not withstanding. :-) Anyway, my thoughts are more power to ya, and have fun! Dave |

BB, that car (the one with shields) certainly isn't going to help you lessen the 'Is that a Ferrari?' thing. :/ --Dan PS: Cool plate. |

That was me you passed on I-5! However, I think you misunderstood the meaning of my plate. The long version would read: "Ferrari?? Who the hell is that? Never heard of 'em! This NSX is a great car though!" It's not meant to pretend or fool others into thinking the NSX is a Ferrari, quite the opposite! Instead it's trying to say the NSX stands on it's own as a great sports car in it's own right. i.e. a response to those who say it's a Ferrari wanna-be, you should have bought the real thing. For the record, I like Ferrari's too. But I have been asked too many times by others "Is that a Ferrari?" Interestingly almost no one outside of car people seem to know what my plate means. Apparently the name Enzo means nothing to them. And that NSX with the shields on it, makes me ill just to look at it! BTW, that is not a Photoshop job. That image was shown in an AutoTrader forsale ad a few months back and was pretty much universally condemed by everyone over at nsxprime. Reminds me of the NSX I saw driving northbound on Interstate 5 near Bellingham, WA, heading for Vancouver, BC. Had WA plates: "ENZOWHO"...:-)

Also, where is DES's shield? On the fender, or on the back window or what?

Well, I don't think DES is really tring to pass his Saturn off as a Ferrari, whereas this on the other hand might be construed as attempting to pass the NSX off as a Ferrari to the untrained eye?.. |

So if having a shield on an NSX is like pissingon Enzo's grave, then what can you compare having a shield on a saturn to? |

Perhaps on his Ferrari he has the "My Other Car is a Honda" license plate frame? Not something I'd put on my NSX, but why not see the positive side and think "thanks for the support"...don't we have enough enemies? (although I think Mark has it right) |

Does anyone remember when Honda bought an F40 for the devilment of the NSX? They later totaled the car during high speed testing. |

I was at a Ferrari party 3 weeks ago and we did the same thing. Just to lazy to find a digital camera. Looks like someone beat us to it. |
