Thanks for the welcome Martin (and everyone else). I do know one doctor/lawyer joke though:

A doctor and a lawyer were sitting next to each other on a passenger jet. The doctor quickly settled in for the five hour flight by taking his shoes off, removing his spectacles and retracting his chair, with a view to get some sleep. Once the doc was asleep, the lawyer, seizing the opportunity, picked up his shoes and spat in them. The doctor soon woke up, turned to the lawyer and said "I'm going to the toilet, since I'll be up, can I get anything for you?" The lawyer replied "yeah, a coke thank you". The doc put his shoes on and got up to run his little errand. The lawyer chuckled to himself, remembering what he did to the good doctor's shoes. The doc returned with the coke, which he handed to the lawyer. The lawyer took a rather large mouthful and immediately spat it out all over the chair in front of him. The lawyer, gagging, exclaimed, "what the hell is wrong with this coke!". The doctor, with a solemn look on his face, only shook his head and said "why can't our professions just get along; all this spitting in shoes and urinating in cokes..."

Martin...enjoy the keys this weekend. I am envious. I will be sitting in the law library all weekend working. Don't you wish you were a lawyer?:-)

BTW, I may be down your way in August visiting my sister in Gainesville and then heading to Keys to do some Marlin fishing. We should make plans to grab a beer.

Shouldn't there be a law against lawyers?

...okay I will be nice:-)

Welcome on board!

Why can a lawyer swim through shark infested waters and never get bitten?

.....professional courtesy!

Patrick: Thank you very much! (BTW, lovely Corvette you have there!)

KT: I wish I could say the same! My tertiary studies have taken a rather long winded course (pardon the pun)! Once I finished high school I was accepted into Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws combined degrees. I completed first year in 1998. Back then I felt dissatisfied with law, so I deferred the law degree and went on to finish the Arts degree, which I did in 2000. At that stage I thought to myself, 'what am I going to do with an Arts degree?', so I decided to give law one more chance (luckily I did not quit it back in '98, unlike some other people I know). Lo and behold, I actually enjoyed it (the fact that one of the subjects was Criminal Law and Procedure may have helped!!) and I am now more than happy to finish the degree in the next couple of years and go into practice. Perhaps I needed the time to mature and appreciate study, who knows? If I had continued on back in '98 I would most probably be completing Articles or even practicing as we speak; but to be honest, I'm glad I took the time to finish the Arts degree and perhaps 'grow up'.

Hello everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself seeing as I'm a new member. My friends call me RM, I am 23 and hail from Melbourne, Australia. I am currently studing for the Bachelor Of Laws degree from the University of Melbourne (I'm in my third year) and once I begin practice as a lawyer, I would love to fulfill a life long dream of owning a Ferrari (preferably a three peddle 355 Spyder). I look forward to posting here and learning more about my favourite marque. Cheers!
