Good morning Gerald! I thought I was the only one up at this hour. (Of course, it's three hours earlier here.)

This was the fifth 288 GTO prototype. Originally rosso corsa with black interior, had no air conditioning and manual windows. Later modified by the factory with a/c and p/w, and was then repainted yellow (I am not sure if the repaint was done by Ferrari or not). In 1989 Marcel Massini reported that this was, at that time, one of only three 288 GTOs that were not rosso corsa--the other two had been repainted silver-gray metallic.

Is this car on Marcel Massini's list? The car could be a repainted red one, or it could be a prototype. Anyone?

Re-Paint

I would not be so confident, in Ferrari-dom never safe to say "always". (You are could be right as all PRODUCTION 288GTO's were red)

This is a proto-type, not one of the regular production cars....

Gerald, I know we have discussed this car, but is there any info as to its color pedigree?

It's a repaint. ALL production 288 GTO's are Red
(and left-hand drive). Agree though...it is beautiful.

I thought they were all red from the Factory, this must be a re-paint, but boy is it pretty.
