Terry,
Find me a nice 246GT in the mid 50's, I'll buy in a heart beat (cash is on hand). All the sub 60K cars I have seen are pretty needy. I don't own one (but woould like to) so no axe grinding here. The cheaper the better.

The Enzo connection relative to a 308/328 is a bit of a stretch. Sure he was alive.... but he had nothing at all to do with production car development. When Fiat took over the production car side of things in 1969, Enzo let it go and was grateful to have it gone. He never cared about the production cars anyway, except for how much money he could fleece from rich wannabe's so he could pay for the racing.

Who knows what that 328 is really worth. It would seem $34K is a bit low... but $50K sounds equally nutty. I do find that lots of folks claim to be able to buy excellent cars at dirt cheap prices "all day long".... but I dont see much if any evidence of actual transactions taking place at these stupid low prices. I would venture a guess that a really nice 328 is a $42K to $45K car. When you get up to $50K.... you can get a nice 348. If the 348 is not your style.... you can buy a nice 246GT Dino for the mid $50s. THATS what I would go for in that price range!

The MOPARS and other muscle cars big values are not for the mudane versions. You can buy a really great driving, nice condition Challenger for under $20K. However it will not be a factory 426 Hemi with a 4 speed. It wont even be a 440 6 pack. It will have a 383 and an auto. The big dollar cars are very rare. Take the Cuda. Lots made. Most are still pretty cheap. But a '71 Cuda convertible 4 speed with 426 Hemi? $500K.... I think they built 7 of them. Muscle cars are all about the engine and matching numbers.

I dont think you should look at any mass produced Ferrari since the early 70s as an investment, some may get lucky and appreciate more than others.

That aside who would have thought Mopar Challengers/Cudas would hit $50k or other muscle cars of the 60s -70s would have such ridiculous asking prices now and they made 10x as many compared to any Ferrari.

Yes they made 6000 328s but thats worldwide, how many are in the US? how many are wrecked? They were also the part of last cars made when Enzo was involved and alive, and who was Ferrari.

The new stuff is nice but does nothing for me, its techno computer designed boring, and who is to say what will be collectable or not for Ferrari either, certainly no-one here, Boxer, Daytona prices have stayed the same since the early 90s, yet Dinos have multiplied 5-6x. I am not saying the 308/328 series will appreciate but out of any mass produced Ferrari they have the greatest potential for it.

Also, Ebay means nothing, it took me 3x to sell my Porsche 911, their are alot of flakes and time waster wannabes as well, if you need cash now you can always give away a car to someone looking for a bargain, finding a decent buyer takes a little more effort

L,
so are you going to buy the car for $45K from me>?

Besides I never said it had a "fresh" service but a major service at 10/2001. Which in all technicallity is still good for over 3 years.

You guys are dreaming on the 328s. There are thousands of cars. Thousands in good condition. If you think they are an investment, great. Suit yourself and buy mine!

If the car was so well maintained, then why did he have a complete new interior installed? Granted, Ferrari's have weak interiors, but unless they are abused, they should not have to be replaced. You would really need to have an unbias inspection performed. if all checked out, i think it is worth $39,000 to $45,000.

No 328 is an investment? Thats what people used to say about the Fiat/Dino 246 it will never be worth anything since its a Fiat, the same was said about the GTO that a High School shop used for tinkering

Armchair quarterbacks speculate this car is worth this or that and I'd never pay more and you can negotiate 20% less at least off asking prices yeah right, until you are in the market for one,a high demand rare car such as the right Ferrari
model has many suitors

Nice cars sell fast, storied junk sits

The guy I bought my 328 from had it a month sold it to me and regretted it and since has bought another 86 for $57k, did he overpay? No he is meticulous in the condition he wanted and payed what it was worth.

L. is dreaming, thinking his '86 328, with over 50K miles is worth more than $40K.....even $30K. As far as his friend offering him 'well over $40K'......"one who can't afford it will always offer more".

This reminds me of every time I sell a car, there is someone who states that they know someone who would have paid more......or if I buy one, there is always one I could have bought for less. Sound familiar?

NO 328 is an investment!!!!!!!!!

I think that maybe Im the only Ferrari owner here, I have a 328gts already and also a T.R. For me that F328 would need to have a fresh service and new clutch and also be a everything mint car to cost $47,000. If you think that this 328 is worth $31,000 then you are the one dreaming. OK maybe not $47,000 but it wont be less than $45,000. A bad looking 328, without records or without the major and a bad clutch its a $33,000 to $35,000 car, thats if the car seems to be ok but theres no proof about its condition.

At $31,000 it is a major bargain, I have an '86 and a friend was willing to give me well over $40,000 and mine its got more than 50,000miles, but its perfect. I declined his offer because for me there is nothing around the $50,000 that its as good of a car and (I'm not tlaking of performance here, there might be faster cars for around that price but they are not a Ferrari) or investment as the 328.

I think that the car is worth the $50,000, but the market is bad and there are many cheap asses out there and many people selling bad deals. To make it fair in todays market I think this 328 could sell for $47,000 if its got the 60,000 major done, a strong clutch and that there is nothing wrong with it.

Seems lika a lot for an 86 but it doesn't hurt for him to put it up there. The reserve could be less then that. Maybe he is just hoping someone will want to cut out the bull and just buy it. That is too much though IMO.

Found this on E-bay. Isn't this too much for a 328.
