Aaron/Doody, Thanks for the comments. I will keep patient I am picky and want only one car if you know what I mean. Living in Dallas and having all potential cars in the red/tan 328 GTS 30k miles $40ish range I hope is a kind search process for me. Maybe one will turn up under my nose. Ron |

Ron - Believe it or not - I actually purchased my 328 through these guys last September. The whole experience is a blur - I had been looking for several months, left messages with many people, had several looking for a specific car. By the time I got an email from them, I had already put a deposit on another car at Steve Harris (an '86 328) and was just waiting for a ding in the hood to be repaired before I bought it. These guys had found an '89 328 in Las Vegas (fortunately where my father lives) - basically same price, same mileage and since I was hoping more for an '89, I had my dad look at it initially, then when I was out there for a little r&r - I was able to check it out thoroughly. Just happened to work out and I purchased it through them. In the end it worked out OK but I wasn't ready for the frustration of the whole experience. I don't know if it was specifically because of these guys or just the whole "Exotic Car" purchase thing but it didn't seem to go as smooth as a car purchase should have. I even attempted to walk away from the deal once - but that's when they finally decided to actually do something to earn their money and started being helpful. Would I recommend them? I'm happy with the end product but don't expect any extras like you would expect walking in to a dealership with a wad of cash. Feel free to email me offline - I can give you his direct # and email if you'd like and talk more in detail about the experience (I really don't want to do them any favors by advertising it here). The best thing to do, is be patient, talk to several people/delears/brokers - eventually the right one will come along! Good luck, Aaron

julian: if you haven't already, definitely check out http://www.funcarsonline.com/ - they have a stellar 996TT board that i'm active on. as for options, here are some of my opinions. * my 997TT (whenever that happens; whatever it's called) will definitely have the sunroof deleted. i track the porsche and the extra headroom and extra rigidity and fewer noise/rattle problems would be a great thing. * the new bose radio is supposedly pretty okay. the old becker stuff was horrid. i have the hifi/dsp extra and it's a waste of money. * make sure you delete the front bumperettes! * most people say the nav stuff is lame. feel free to email - happy to jaw 996 :-) doody. |

I see from your photo you have a 996 tt, as well as a 355 spider, good choices! I have a 355 spider and a 993 turbo 4, am awaiting a delivery on a new 996 tt. Any tips on spec-ing up my Porsche which I expect to have to do in the next 3 months? Anything I should avoid / look out for? Your advice would be appreciated. Not really ferrari related, but what the heck. is yours a tiptronic or manual? |

they've come up a couple times before, eg: http://server.ferrarichat.com/~ferrari/ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/6225.html i never contacted them - it was clear to me that they were aggregating listings quite broadly. i'm sure they would take your call, and then contact the seller to try to broker the deal. the thing is, there are very few secretive sellers, and there aren't that many cars :-) so there's not a whole lot of point to this exercise, and the seller is probably going to get less money, so they're not particularly motivated to deal with some broker bugging them. remember, the only thing difficult about finding a ferrari is being patient. the cars are out there, but you almost always have to be patient. there may only be 10 instances of the exact car you want in the US. be patient. watch the usual places. it'll pop. be cautious about people who add minimal value. doody. |

Is this a real sight? No one is responding to ads or information interest. Email returns as well? Anyone have any dealings with this sight? |
