Bruce Dickenson is currently fronting Maiden. Bayley got his marching orders a while ago, so the howling-sabreing-flyboy-scribe is back. Back! Scrrrream for me Long Beach, etc, etc. |

Tim, Nugent puts on a great show--seen him 3 times--but I think I would go for the racing. I guess it depends on what you're more likely to have another chance to see. Nuge tours just about every year here, so...If you search a little, you might find some even better shows going on while you're in California. Lots of small venues, lots of talent. |

The oldtimer GP is a big event at the Nurburgring which has ferri f1 and sports cars from all eras racing other classics. The Ferrari club of Germany also puts on a show. My mate went a couple of years ago and said that Ferrari flew in the F1 service team to look after all the modern F1 cars and that the flew in from Italy a specially catered lunch for everyone also. It sounds like a damn fine weekend. Who's singing for Maiden now Dickinsons gone? Maybe I'll skip that one and come back for Aerosmith/Kiss in October? |

I will 2nd that Jim. The first time I saw the MotorCity Madman I could actually see sound waves in my beer and I was getting dizzy from how loud he was. (the venue was super small). I just saw him about a year or so age and he was amusing and loud. |

My only memory of Ted Nugent is that my ears rang for 3 weeks. |

Saw Nugent in the 80's. Very good show. Saw Maiden in the 80's EXCELLENT show. However, they don't have Bruce Dickenson singing anymore so that is no good. Motorhead? How many good songs do they have? I only know a few, but Lemmy would be fun to see before that wart on his cheek gives him cancer and he dies. I have no idea what the Oldtimer GP is. |

I'm having trouble deciding what to do. I'm going to the US in Aug for the Monterey weekend, and I was going to go to Germany first for the oldtimer GP, but now I see that Paul Rodgers in playing in LA the same weekend. I saw him support Alice Cooper once, he was brliiant and I want to see him again. Also the week before that Alice is touring with Ted Nugent, who I haven't seen but would like to. So here's my questions: Who's been to the Oldtimer GP in Germany? Who's seen Ted Nugent? Should I skip Germany to see the rock shows or miss the shows to see the cars. I want to go to Iron Maiden and Motorhead after Monterey. The big problem is we never get to see the rare historic cars or the classic rock bands in Australia because they're all too soft to put in the effort to come over here , which means I have to maximise my opportunities when I travel. I'm most thankful to anyone who can give advice to me in these most important life decisions. |
