Thank you all for more advise. For now, I am charging the battery if the car doesn't start. My charger really don't indicate how much was charged. According to the manual, 15 min. charge should be enough for regular battery. Like Dave said, FoD took some stereo staff out when I bought it (like amp under the dash, CD changers in a trunk), thus wiring may be wrong. I thought it is funny that LED indicator don't turn off even after the key is out of ignition, too. I will change battery, like I said. On stereo, I will drop by those car stereo shop for Clarion (that's what's in my 328) Thank you! |

Yoshi, just pull the fuse to the radio in your fuse panel and that should kill the radio temporalily unless it is wired directly to the battery and in that case just disconnect the radio lead at the battery. I am in Texas too but I'm not experiencing any battery problems. |

In addition to checking the draw of the radio: Whenever a battery is drawn flat, when you recharge/jump it, put it on the charger until its completely recharged--right up to the top. As long as the batery is in a depleted or partially depleated condition, it continues to deteriorate. Go ahead and drive the car, but when you get back, put it on a charger and charge until its full. |

In my 328, the stereo/radio is completely turned off (no lights, LCD) when the ignition is off. |

Yoshi, The radio may be wired wrong. It should turn off with the ignition, and only needs a small amount of power to retain the memory presets and clock. Generally the dispay should be blank with the ignition off, except if it has a warning light that flashes.... you might stop by a stereo shop for advice. |

Thank you all. I will try unplugging the radio. Wait, I don't know how to do that. Radio is in dashboard! The LCD lights up even it is turned off ! BTW. I think I will take the battery to AutoZone for a test. New battery may solve the problem. I just wasn't sure how old the battery is, and since it looks clean, I assumed it is not the battery problem. Thank you all again. |

Yoshi, my buddy's Mondial had a similar problem, and it turned out to be a junky battery. |

I agree with Pat. Alternatively, you could disconnect the battery using the quick disconnect and see if that changes the issue. My car doesn't seem to be suffering from the issue, so I doubt your battery is being fried from the heat. A secondary thought, you could take the battery out and take it down to your local AutoZone. They'll test it for free and let you know if the battery itself is the issue |

Yup, funky radio installations, and car alarms are usually to blame for battery drain issues. It is possible you have a marginal battery too. Unplug the radio as suggested and see what happens. |

Unplug your radio for a week and see if the problem clears up |

In Texas, it gets really hot even in a garage. In the past 1 week, my 328 died twice. I used a battery charger, and then the engine starts everytime (well twice). I noticed the light from stereo is really strong that I can peek inside of the car in the total darkness. Would this causing the battery drainage? Or the heat is too much and eating up electrolyte? I never had this problem with other cars (except one car which I didn't drive for over 6 months) Any advise to solve this problem? FYI, it is 86 328 GTS. |
