Jack -- Now you're talking. Maybe Autoweek will reimburse the rental company for the cost difference between quoted and actual for interested readers. Sign me up for a lifetime subscription, please. :-) |

Ah, now that makes a little more sense! I'm assuming that, since it was an honest mistake, Autoweek will honor that rate to the first 50 callers! Ahem. |

Jack -- Yes, that article was page 25 of Autoweek's April 22 issue. Autoweek's quoted rental rate was a mistake. They posted the rate for a 360 Spider as $990 per week, when ACTUALLY, the correct rate is $990 per DAY if you rent for a WEEK! The guys at the rental place told me Autoweek plans on running a correction in an upcoming issue. They also told me they got over 150 calls the first DAY that article came out! Lots of people wishing they could rent a brand new 360 Spider for $990 per week! Heck, at that rate, you could just rent it for 3 years straight and have a heck of a deal! :-) |

Jay, did you see the recent article about Ferrari rentals in Europe? I can't remember which mag, but it caught my attention because of a recent thread here about the same topic. Anyway, they said you can rent a Ferrari for around $900/week, including about 2K miles, or so. |

Many of you may remember my prior post(s) regarding all the great fun I had last September in Germany, driving the rented 360 Modena on the German Autobahn and through the Alps, pretty much having a blast. Well, I am in process of planning this year's trip, and just called the rental company, and found out they are getting a brand new 575M in June that will be available. So guess what I'll be driving?!! I'm so excited I can't stand it! V-12 with 515 horsepower and paddle shifters! Oh yeah! I'm sure I'll be full of stories after I get back, but wanted to share this! Can't wait! |
