Kevin.....how could I forget.....

Marion is usually better with that. I am just..out of my mind but then you saw that :-)

Yep, driving 300 Miles to go to a night club is pretty stupid and boy I hope we can do that again :-)

Those are the memories that will last a lifetime!

Still catching up on the sleep issue. Had to go to a Commission meeting last night that ran till 11:30pm.

Well, I guess it's my turn to chime in now. It was a great two days! Now that I have recovered (and I didn't even make the HoB's or the Sunday drive!), I can write a bit.

The kickoff party lunch was great, they always seem to go off without a hitch, although the event coffers seem to come up a little short at the end (Byron, JL, Matt you know what I mean, thanks again)!

Vegas was a blast I can't even begin to say. Blasting to Vegas in a spur of the moment sort of way (I'm sure our average speeds would have been higher had Ford Motor Company not chosen to speed limit Martin's Ranger to 92 mph), Matt's little ignition coil buying frenzy:-) , cramming a nights worth of activity into a few hours, Meeting Roland and listening to his great stories, what a gentleman and comedian, girls in skimpy attire (yes, running around a casino), Clubbing at The Rain (thanks Byron, I don't know what you did to get us that far ahead in line, wait, Ye$$, I do, Thanks again!), Riding back in the cab with Martin, Marion, and Des. Martin, you are hilarious. I forgive you for not remembering my friend's and my name, there was just so much going on so fast I hardly introduced myself. The Crazy Horse, tell them the password is D-cup, I can't believe that worked!!!! And those poor drunk women trying to find their room by calling their husband's on the phone "....ladies, ladies it's 5 am don't call them, they're sleeeeppping, no no put the phone down", you had to have been there! I know I was rolling when I read the post of your cop story. I can hear you and your German accent saying that to the cops now!

Man, two hours sleep that night before driving back to beat the rush (I never saw cops though). I can't believe you guys went on another long drive to SB after that, And you thought I was crazy coming from Riverside for LA drives! Anyways, this post is long enough thanks again Matt, Byron, Sunny, Steve, Martin, Marion, Des, Tom for having the nerve to go on something like this and make it such fun!! You all contributed a bunch.

Oh, by the way Matt, my NSX used 0 quarts of oil there and back, and my air conditioning was blowing so cold in my face while I verified my temp gauge was still in the cool region while stuck in traffic, that I had to turn it down. jab-jab, wink-wink!!

Martin, it works differently for other states. If you really said that, you have huge set on you, thats for sure.

Here, once every 18 months we can attend traffic school (online, video rental, in a classroom, etc) and keep the points off our record. It works for most minor traffic violations, speeding is one of them.

I hope there's something like that in Miami!

I don't know what you want. I am still drunk from last night, I have only 2h of sleep in me and giving all that you should be proud I was holding my lane, forget the speed, man!

BTW Sunny,
my ticket was 87 in a 65 and it was also reduced to 75 in 65.

Any idea how to get the points off that ticket? Don't mind paying the bill just the points that are bugging me.

What a weekend, everyone!
Too much to recap at this moment - brain and body is in "recovery" mode. Gotta go catch a flight right now...

Martin (and Marion), Tom, DES, and Roland... it was so great of you guys to fly in for the event. For all that attended, I hope you had a great time - I know I did!

Thanks for the sponsors that attended or were represented at the event:
Symbolic Motors
Players Run
Ultimate Pedals
EVOSport
Blackhorse Motors
Valence USA

For the new faces I met - I hope to see you at more of our future events.

Thanks to Cafe Med and everyone else for making this possible.

Forza FDC.

What a great time!

Thanks Matt, Byron, J-L and all of the others.

It was great to put faces to the nick names we have here. TomD, after all the thousands of posts to finally meet was great. DEs, enthusiasm pure! great meeting Sunny, Jordan, Hubert (yesterday even if it was briefly), Tenny (what a nice 360!), Bart (a riot to hang out with, yep Bart, you missed a great time!), Dom (briefly but at least...)
Driving all the way to Vegas to go to a Club (stupid but well worth it :-))

Also thanks to Steve for making the Foundation Room possible at the HoB. We had a blast.

Byron and some others were trying to get into the Crazy Horse with a secret password: D-Cup.

I can not remember when I slept this little for an entire weekend.

Thursday to Friday 4h
Fr to Sat: 4h
Sat-Sun: 2h
Sun to Mon: 3h

I feel like I am back in highschool :-)

Meeting a racing legend like Roland is amazing. If you guys ever get to setup something like Roland suggested as a driving instruction day, I will fly in again to do it. The stories and wealth of information is just breathtaking.
Thanks guys. Flying accross the country for this was SO worth it!

What a weekend.

apart from my coil exploding in Barstow the trip to vegas was great.

Roland Linder was in Pasadena for the launch and then we met up with him in Las Vegas for dinner at PF Changs. It was a real treat to meet him and hang out with him.

Hats off to Tom, Dan and Martin for being real troopers for doing everything we had planned and did it all on little or no sleep. It was so much fun to meet you all and raise hell. Marion was a trooper putting up with all of us.

Best part of "rain" was waiting in line to get in and being in there. You cannot walk around Vegas with a open container of beer but you can walk around only wearing a thong in a hotel casino. What a strange place.

some highlights of the weekend, which I am sure DES will give a full report were, -VIP treatment at House of blues on sunset Friday night, cracking a 308 coil in the middle of the dESert on the way to vegas, all night parts stores, womens pajama party at the Palms, Club rain at the Palms, other vegas establishments :-), making it back in around 3 hours :-), DESs mishap driving Bob's 355 :-), a few run ins with the nevada and California highway patrol :-(.

I just got in on the red eye, what a weekend!!! Got back from Las vegas to LA yesterday am after all nite partying and we did a drive up to santa barbara, barely made it back down to the airport in time for the flight. I want to thank, Matt, Byron, and JL for putting on a great event and weekend, Sunny, who basically drove us all over yesterday, including a "cannonball run" type of drive down to the airport, he really went out of his way for us. Additonally it was great meeting Ron S, Bart, Bob Calahan, Martin and Marion from Miami, Steve S, Jordan, Roland Linder and some others my brain is probably missing right now.

I had a horrible time. I mean it sucked, and here's why:

- the food was damn good
- people very nice
- Bart was showing everyone the awesome detail job on his car
- and I even won a prize (the one I wanted too!)

...terrible, terrible time at this event ;-)

Big Thanks to Matt, Byron, and Jean-Louis for putting on a terrific event! I have to apologize as I was there with my fiancee and we happened to meet and spend time getting to know a very nice couple attending the event, so I didn't get to mix & mingle as much as I would have liked. Great finally meeting Matt, however brief, seeing Byron, Jordan and Sunny, and a pleasure meeting Bart - who entertained my fiancee and I with some great stories.

Wish I could have met and spent more time with all, but hopefully at future events. DES, I tried about five times to meet you, but each time I passed you were engaged in discussions and I didn't want to interrupt - hope you had a GREAT time. I did get a chance to see you pulling up with Ron Shirley in the Mondial and the look on your face was priceless; definitely look like you are right at home behind the wheel of an F-car.

Thanks again to all, and see you on the road at the next drive :-)

Great pics, looks like DES had a BLAST! Driving a 355?! DES YOU HAVE ARRIVED!

On the hooks:

It's actually so the car can be safely towed off the track (FAST) after having an 'off-track excursion'.

The off-center is so that the car will be continually pulling to the right/left, instead of wiggling back and forth. It's actually more stable for the tow truck driver/extractor. (depending on how bad you wad it up!)

Best!
Ben.

I think i have your answer for off center hooks. When the build the cars that is where they put the sea hooks. To attach them ro the ship. Ussally 4 per car. Look under any Forgein car should have sea hook holes. So most people just usally use that spot.

So extremely modified that it needs a towhook to move? :-) And why is it asymmetrical? Or is it part of a special 'ground effect' modification?

BTW, I thought it was a towhook, but it seems out of place on a car like that.

I believe the blue 996TT is an extremely modified promotive Porsche owned by a gentleman named Wilber?.. he frequents the rennlist porsche forums. i think he's got a reputation for having one of the fastest Porsches on the west coast.. not a big fan of the wheels on that one though.

I've always had a thing for that SE30 purple on the anniversary Diablo.. it looks so unique.. i also like the metallic arancia orange on the Diablo 6.0s..

I'll bet DES is having a blast.. wish i could have gone.

DES was the one in black. He got to drive the 355 he was posing in when I took that shot.

The hook on the dark blue 911 turbo is a tow hook. The car aparantly has 700hp (looks extremely modified: carbon fibre hood, racing mods...so on).
