I am sure this LA trip sounded like fun, but Martin heard right about New Orleans. It is the best Ferrari event in the nation! DES, you think you had a good time in LA, two words for you: STAND-FREAKIN BY (ok, more like three).

John,
DES will definetly be there. I am thinking had about it as well since Roland Lindner and I spoke about the event and he said it is the best of all Ferrari events throughout the US. Hard to argue with that when it comes from a LM winner and Ferrari-specialist extraordinaire.

DES sorry I missed you at the airport.
and it was a Ferrari Ranger Limited FORD edition!
I was flying through the desert at 92Mph :-)

Sorry everyone for being in LA a week early, the drive the utahfoc.com put on this weekend was a blast though. Meeting all of you would have been a pleasure. Hope to meet more of you next month on the 15th at Monterey.

LOL, Jim, he was in a Ford Ranger - "limited" edition - those that were there will know what i mean...! :-)

Folks, i had a blast - it was the time of my life, literally, you have no idea... It was so awesome... i intended to come straight into work after getting home this morning, but the sun took a lot out of me, and i wound up strolling in here at 1pm... Trying to put my story in order as i get some things done here in the office, so it's possible i won't be able to post until tomorrow...

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone - i'll have a detailed list in my post... i'm still kinda numb from soaking everything in; this weekend really had a big impact on me. i had such a great time, with so many really awesome people, it's something that, even with my horrible memory, i'll definitely never forget...! Thank you so much to everyone who was there, i had a great time, it was THE milestone of my life. If you thought i was addicted before, i'm totally hooked, now...

i'll post later or tomorrow - probably tomorrow. Thanks again, everyone, i had the time of my life. Matt, a special thanks to you; none of this would have been possible if it weren't for you... i really appreciate it. :-)

Its bright and mid-day... I just recovered from a 10 hour nap.

Glad to see your home safe, Tom. You too Martin & Marion. Are we still waiting on any word from Dan?

Martin, ok... minus the tickets. I broke my cherry and got one too, 86 in a 65 but he knocked it down to 75 in a 65. Made the airports on time with 30-45 minutes to spare. Tom and Dan were amazed at how cordial and polite the officers were. I told them yeah, enough to make you sick.

I had a blast!

Vegas was a stupid idea in retrospect but man it was a good time.

At dinner I was thinking, Tom from Jersey, Dan from Jersey, Martin and Marion from Miami and the rest of the so cal'ers are sitting in PF Changs in Las Vegas having dinner with Roland Linder and his friend (who is racing Le Mans this year). What a strange night.

Pat,
the whole entire weekend was a highlight.

Friday eve:
House of Blues Foundation room thanks to Steve, a lurker (I know you are out there Steve :-)) Met with Byron, Matt, Ron S, DES, TomD, Steve of course, Sunny, famous Jean-Louis,
Party lasted for me till 2am, when they closed the bar, the others went for Fat Burger till 3:00am.

Satuday Noon launch party. Great organization, Byron, Matt and J-L did an outstanding job putting all this together. Meeting great people and some F-chat names. Great food at Cafe Med.

After that Matt, DES in the 308, Sunny and Byron in the XJ, TomD and Porsche Steve, forgot the names of the two guys in the NSX (great guys...just bad with names) and Marion and I, drove to Las Vegas to party like its 1999.

4 hours and 3 coils later we arrived and took a shower met Roland (the famous F40 LM story) and his friend and had a late dinner then heading out to Club Skin and Club Rain for some "sightseeing". Got out there at about 5am.

Next morning taking an early wakeup call and heading back to LA. I never thought Troopers are out there that early :-). $112 later Marion and I are the last of the group. Coming into LA at 1:45pm after 5 hours driving we decided we will not make the Santa Barbara drive and headed south to Longbeach to just chill for a few hours.
The rest of the guys went on a senic trip to Santa Barbara.

we actually missed DES at the airport in Longbeach. We heard the embarking call for his flight but were stuck in security (I knew I should not have bought that gun collection :-)) So we sat plane to plane on the tarmac till he took off and we did a few minutes later.

As I said it was all a big highlight!

I tell you this there is not many man made things that look sweeter than a 308 as it cruises down the desert highway as the sun sets and the moon comes over the hills. Kept thinkin of Jackson's brown's running on empty for some reason.

If it was not for Kraegan Auto Parts in Barstow or the 24 Hour Auto Zone in LAs Vegas it would have been longer.

Tom,

I was sure you were going to take the day off. I hit the wall yesterday afternoon and I still have not recovered. I am WAY to old to pull a couple of all nighters in a row.

I beleive "the bird" was picking him up at the airport, so maybe they are having a little reunion :-) I got the impression he was not going to work today and I don't think he has access at home. BTW, I am just about hitting the wall (eyes starting to shut and head bobbing) and I till have another 8 or so hours still my eyes see the pillow :-)

I would have expected a full break down by now.

Is he back home yet or is he passed out in a ditch in LA with a needle in one arm and a hooker under the other?
