I'd take a 360 Modena. Cali blue w/ tan interior, sports seats. Six speed gated. Red calipers, challenge grills and Tubi. |

I my as well chip in my 2c here. 360 with a Tubi. I prefer the 360 styling, HP, Weight, brakes, and performance to the 355. Plus, it sounds absolutely awesome with a Tubi!

The 512 tr is a good car, but i am a fan of the junior ferrari (dino-360 modena). I think that the 360 modena is a of the most interesting ferrari of the history. Its the modern dino. |

As the threads below have indicated, the choice depends partially on what sparks your cylinders. Personally, I like the 355 styling better than the 360, and to rip off another board member, the 355 sound is more sybilant, the 360 more sonorous. I think the 355 sounds better. The interior on the 360 is better appointed (more leather, less issues like airbag cover distortion) but the aluminum bits do take some getting used to. Sounds like I should be driving a 355, but I am driving a 360, for two reasons. The first is torque--the 360 is faster, but to me feels much more responsive than the small difference in acceleration times between the two cars. The second was the advantage of having a warranty. If I was doing all over again today, I would follow Frank's advice and seriously look a twelve cylinder cars. The 512TR would be at the top of my list, but I would look at 550's as well. Maintanence is more, but the initial purchase price savings (vs. a 360) will buy a lot of shop time. |

I agree and dissagree with Frank on this issue. I have a 360 and love the looks, but I love the 512TR. Man that is just one of the Sexiest cars Ferrari has built, and frank is right for the money they are a great buy. I think that they have hit the lower end of the depreciation scale. And it is a 12. If you are not in love with the 360, I would get the 512TR.

The 355 looks MUCH better , but the 360 performs better. With prices like they are, for the same money I would get a TR or 512 instead. There's nothing quite like a 12 cylinder Ferrari. |

Exterior:360 modena interior:360, but the silverish median centre is most beautiful in the 355. Whell and seats very nice and 360; but the seats on the 355 are more comfortable. money: 360 is bear . I would like to drive 355 and modena to choose one. |

And I don't know about blowing 355s off the track "routinely". Their drivers, maybe. 360's are lightyears ahead alright, in technical bulletins to fix all the glitches and kinks. IMHO too much technology and too little kick.

Never been mistaken for a mustang, or other? Hmmm, I found 635 threads in a quick search which disagree. e.g. FerrariChat.com General Ferrari Discussion Archives Archive through May 29, 2003 "Nice Porsche!"

The 360 without a doubt. Light years ahead of the 355 and I routinely blow 355's off the track with a 360. Never had a 360 mistaken for a mustang or a honda either, just doesn't happen. Add a Tubi and you get the sound too. Great driver's car. but if you are going to track it, the 355 is more forgiving and stable. The 360 is difficult to drive very fast (>150), unless you realy know what you are doing. |

As a 355 owner, I am probably biased, I never got used to the 360's front air intakes, and probably never will. I equally dislike the 996 Biturbo and the Lambo Gallardo for this styling cue. The side and rear views have grown on me though. I could not agree more about the noise of the 355 (as long as you fancy a GTS or a spider, otherwise you're missing the point). Surprised though not to read any comment about the interior, although it's where we want to spend most of our time, right ? The 360 is a major departure from the 355 and where there was a lot of room for progress. The silverish median console locks cheap, but I think that the rest of the interior design is quite an improvement. The 20hp and the slight weight saving bring a slight advantage on long straights, but brakes is the area where I would expect the 360 to improve on the 355, with its wooden pedal feel and perceivable lack of power (and heat resistance). And in spite of all this, I still love my 355 :-) |

This is definitely tough choice. I love the look of 360. I love the sound of 355. Moneywise, both car seems to decrease its value for next few years, don't you think? Then again, people who can afford $100 to 150K for cars may not care on this issue. I just hope next model of 360 will have the look of 360 & sound of 355. For now, I will chose 98-99 355 as all kinks are straighten out, price is more reasonable for me, and its sound is just great. That alone will make me realize that I am driving Ferrari. |

I never like the flip up headlight, so you figure yourself which one I like better. Another thing is, isn't it artistic to enable to view the engine without opening the hood?? |

I love the low wide stance from the rear of the 355. BUt I never get tired and would go with the 360 although I am seeing more and more of them, the car just looks CRAZY! |

355 sounds so much better it is not funny. I would love to understand why, but the 360 just does not sound good IMO. Before I heard one I would have jumped for the 360, but now I would not touch one unless the sound can be rectified! I have heard Ford Escorts sound better , even Alfa Suds! Pete |

If you have to ask the question, your better of with the 355. Its older, with old technology but it sounds good. AND you can tell yourself its more fun to drive. The less 360's on the road the better I like it. |

How about a 1995 355 as was mentioned by others in a previous thread. If memory serves me correct, it was mainly because it had less emission control devices? Someone help me out here. |

As a former 360 owner and present 355 owner, I vote 355. 355 is more fun to drive, it NEVER gets mistaken for a mustang, mitsubishi, or whatever else; and you don't need a tubi to make it sound beautiful. Not to mention you can save some coin by getting a perfected 98/99 355 instead of the "we are still working the kinks out" 99 or 00 Modena. If you can shoot the works, get a 2003 360 spider, tubi, calipers & challenge grills; or save 100k and go with a 98/99 355 |

I love 355 and 360 modena, but the sound of engine of 355 is more louder than 360. Is the 355 more fun than 360? I think that yhe 355 will be more interesting car to the future .What do you think? |
