Well, I had promised a photo of my ultimate pedal installation. But I found out that the footrest for a 308 GT4 is different from the GTB/S footrest.

So, I took off my rubber footrest, and sent it to Rob Baylor, who made me an aluminum one. I received and installed it, and have included a photo below (The photo is pre-vacuuming of the interior).

Note the size of the footrest- much larger than the others, so Rob charged me an extra $30. But it's worth it, cause it looks really nice.

Here's a photo of the dead pedal that I recently bought from Rob (thanks Rob!) installed in my 308QV. It nicely matches the factory 355 pedals that I installed last year (before Rob was selling his).

Dom, instead of drilling a new hole, all you may need to do is slightly slot one of the holes you've already drilled.

Oh, weird. A reply I posted last night to Dom isn't here. Disappeared. I was describing removing the steering wheel, which is quite trivial - unless the screws are stuck!

Dom: I couldn't get my shoulders to clear the space between the seat and door when trying the "kneel outside the car" method.

I got my pedals in the mail yesterday (Quick Service- Thanks Rob Baylor!).

Started the install at about 8:00ish. Took me about 1.5 hrs to install the three pedals, but will have to finish the installation of the footrest tonight. Alot of that time was spent trying to shift postitions, retreive dropped washers, etc.

I found the easiest way to perform the install was to kneel outside the drivers door, with the seat pushed back all the way, and lean into the car with my tools.

So, far, looks pretty good. I think my brake pedal is very slightly angled, may try to fix that tonight (drill new hole). For the footrest pedal, it looks like I'm going to have to jack up the car and remove the driver's side wheel to access the bolts so I can secure the nut and washer. Hopefully shouldn't be too hard to do.

I'll take photos when I'm done.

How hard is it for a dummy to remove the steering wheel? Any special tools required?

Maybe I'll just eat less and exercise so I can get thin enough to fit (yeah right!).

Just as soon as I straighten out the misaligned clutch pedal, I do photos.

Dom: Steering wheel. I should have removed it for the gas pedal install. Plenty of room then.

BTW, the steering wheel extension helps tremendously in increased leg room for heel-toe, etc., as well as making it easier on the arms during long freeway trips. Now if I can just find the elusive horn ring.......

Cool! I just ordered my set on Monday, and am waiting for them to come in. I also ordered the footrest. I was hoping installation wouldn't be that bad, but now you've scared me Hans. I am a small guy (but a little chubby), so hopefully I will have an easier time than you.

Now, if you can only get your car to stop...

leaking gas, fuel, oil, coolant, brake fluid, rusting, squeaking, shaking and studdering, you'd have an awsome car.

Recently installed Ultimate Pedals in my GT4. My primary motivation was that I needed a wider gas pedal, as I have to use an awkward position to heel-n-toe. They made me a gas pedal about 1/2" wider than normal.

Notes:
1) The extra 1/2" is about as wide as you can go w/o modifying the plastic housing at the base of the pedal. Probably not a big deal to fix this if you get a pedal more than 1/2" wider.
2) I centered the brake and clutch pads over the pedals, and found them to be crooked in relation to each other. (Well, I slightly goofed on the clutch.....) The factory pedal placement on my car isn't perfect, so I'll have to re-position the clutch pedal for aestetic reasons.
3) The Big Problem: It's damn near impossible to reach the pedals to mark, drill, and bolt the pedals on! It took me 3 hours to do the gas, as I could find no position that would allow both of my arms simultaneous access to the footwell area. It's an awkward job using just one hand! (OK, maybe I'm a bit larger than some.....) Part of this 3 hours was the 1/2 hour it took me to find the nut and washer that I dropped in the gas pedal mechanism. As I couldn't get into the area to see, I had to fish around with the end of an Allen wrench. I finally found the nut, didn't get the washer.

After the gas pedal ordeal, I delayed doing the brake and clutch, as I had a steering wheel extension ordered. With the steering wheel off, the rest of the installation was a breeze.

Anyway, I'm a happy camper. Heel-n-toe is much easier. Pedals look great.
