Ah, yes, you are a sneaky devil, aren't you Richard?? If that is in fact your real name??!! Perhaps you are the notorious silver diablo tractor agent nine??? We have intelligence to suggest you are launching a strike, be prepared, we have our water to air baugettes (why the baguette you ask? We have formed a secret alliance to take the "le car" and the "le lambo tractor" and make "le le amohidiablocountach"), and are ready to fire at will. |

Right, like these guys have EVER commanded a flotilla! Anyway, like I said I'm moving on. Allan and I are getting conVAIRCAR's, so we can dump on you losers FROM THE SKY!

Hahahah. Enthusiasts? Amphibian performance vehicle exotic enthusiasts you call yourselves? Posuers!! Having recently completed super-doubleblind-backward-magazine self shootout high speed 0-5mph warrior disorientation station testing (wait, how did I get here, anyway?? Dortohy, is that you? ) for AUDI/VW/LAMBO I'll just give you sissys some fair warning to stay out of the water with your overpriced and underpowered flash mobiles. Be warned, the kiddy pool, and magazine reviews (but not much else), are in our grasp! The SS Barchetta DESTROYER (or something)
Pay no mind to the flat tire; we'll get to the dock somehow, it's simply a ruse to entice "little boats" into our salivary jaws (intimidated, yet? NO!? How 'bout now? And now? Scared yet? See, Heinz, I told you it would work!!!) This is the new secret service regatta:
Notice the open top? Ample room for secret spy agents to parachute into, and there's an ejection seat, a hidden heli-pad, and a rocket launcher (or is it potato gun?)
See you ladies in the water!!! Oh, what's that I hear...? You're all in dry dock all of a sudden... |

Richard, I'm with Mark on this one. I hate AmphiUVs. Funny how after all this time Bill's the poser with the Barchetta that stayed on shore. Mark, I hear that if you chrome your propeller it'll go MUCH faster in water. Just be careful of the "no wake" zones. The Coast Guard love to pull over these exotics. Cheers |

Mark: its true. I am a poser as i never put the barchetta in the water. But the design was actually quite brilliant in that, every time it rained, you got soaked, since it was impossible to "erect" the top (no dysfunction jokes please) in time to stem the "tide."Unlike the red car in your pics, mine did not come with that life size hood ornament with the large bullet shaped bumpers, either. PS if you know, or are related, by blood or marriage to that woman, no insult intended. |

Whart Ferrari has a racing heritage but that don't mean a thing off the track. Sure they talk big with models like the 550 Barchetta but how many owners put their "little boats" in the water. I bet yours never even saw a marina. It's the little stuff that make the Lambophibian a such a joy to own. The scissor doors were indeed designed for a marine environment and give it real versatility. After a long day on the water it's sure nice to be able to pop those doors up and hang a sail between them. Richard Hey, I know everybody ain't me but can't you get the wife something decent. Here is our grocery getter...

Agree, wm, the Lambphicar is cool. Had a poster of one when I was nine. While designed primarily for scoring mermaids and prime parking at the floating disco (oh, and jumping wakes though never officially competed), if I had one I'd drag race it. Nice '69 RS/Z, Mojo. |

Mark: I am glad you have seen the light. Few know that the real point of the scissor doors and wing were for "wet work" or that the Lambo heritage included the first v-12 harvester. Those photos of the Lambophibian (LP) show the car in its true environment; taking down unsuspecting boaters, fisherman and the odd kid on an innertube and leaving them gasping with the question "What just hit me?" (Brilliant!) |

Whart We will see who is trout bait. Truth is that I have just been toying with you. Some people think they are fast but when I roll my Lambophibian down the boat ramp everybody knows the big dog is on the water. I will race you any day but here is a piece of advice. Leave the wife at home or she just might end up polishing my propellor.

There was never any doubt that I always would see myself well driving in either an E39 M5 or a 550 Maranello. Both are the torque monster of their brand and there is no such feeling as driving at low rpms and sink the pedal and just watching the speedometer and tachometer speeding towards their respective redline!

Bill, It's obvious that you are jealous of Mark's superior car. You just like Amphicar because of the marque recognition. I hear that if you get one of those "British bastardized contraptions" on an Olympic sized pool it'll leave the Amphicar for DEAD. Not even using the go fast goodies. Cheers |

Sorry, Mark, those aimless British bastardized contraptions of the VW are left behind in a real man to man competition. In fact, if you were driving that, and my wife was driving an AmphiCar, she could totally kick your ass and leave you for trout bait. Well, i guess i'll go polish my propeller now, seeing as how i've totally humiliated you; maybe i'll take our ferrari to the demo derby tonite and show those pussies what driving is really like in a true girly car. Whart I know you are a devoted Amphicar fan but it's just plain ignorant to not acknowledge other high performance vehicles on the market. Here is one of my favorites:
Made in Britan, it has a propeller driven by the fanbelt pully (no reverse). The bottom of the Beetle is made "waterproof" and the lower parts of the doors have metal plates on the inside. Look at the water that the bilge pump pumps out. The under side of the engine is in the water, the top of the engine is kept dry by a metal casing. The engine hood (bonnet) is removed to cool the top side of the engine. (There is no air cooling in the water. |

Mark: thanks for the pic of that one. Its hard to understand the attraction for these until you have heard them at full chat, with that little propeller spinning away. I know i have a review somewhere comparing the Amphicar, totally stock, to a heavily modified Lambo and it totally kicked its ass. The fact is, most drivers do not want a true hi-performance marine/road touring machine. And no car to my knowledge, even the vaunted McLaren, can do the numbers the Amphicar can when fulling immersed. Just a tremendous design and mechanical effort that Ferrari will never, ever be able to duplicate. After Amphicar, Ferraris are for suckers. |

I can picture myself driving some sort of convertible vintage ferrari --250 or 330? Ferrari 400i. i mean, come on, you gotta love the boxy styling! no, just kidding, for quite a while now, TRs have been in my mind, and Sir Mix-a-lot helped that even more when he put the engine noise of his in a song. Marvin, is that the Speed Racer car? Pretty cool... Jim, I admire your passion for that car. You will find the right Testarossa one day - I know it! 740iL for now, but TR in the very near future. Someone once made a morbid comparison to me that now that I have Ferrari in my blood, the only cure for it is by death... not funny, but true, I believe. Although I haven't owned a Porsche, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, or any other exotic marque yet... I believe that Ferrari runs in my veins now. I can picture myself owning a F-40 one day. In the meantime, I will enjoy every minute of every day that I can spend with the F-40's little brother... my 348CH! |

As of now I drive a Dakar yellow BMW convertible- way to loud for me, doesn't fit my personality at all (the attention the car brings). I could picture myself driving a titanium 550 or possibly a black GTS 355- a car everyone knows is cool, but it doesn't yell "look at me!" like a yellow car. |

This is how I decided what Ferrari was right for me. Whenever I daydream about driving one it was always a TR. Whenever I dreamed about showing up at a cool club/restaurant it was always the TR. Whenever I imagined a friend viewing my garage full of cars it was always the TR I wanted to drive them in. If I had a bazillion bucks and every car in the world I always take the TR out in my mind. I love tons of cars, but the TR is what does it for me.
