I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Onofrio (I don't remember his last name) at a Challenge event at Homestead and he was a complete gentleman. Correct me if I'm wrong, but apparently he also owns Classic Coach (the official FNA body center in North Jersey). Anyway, great guy.

I had the same positive experience with these guys. When they realized I was a real enthusiast and not "just a gawker", they even showed me through the back where there were other gorgeous cars just crammed into the warehouse back there, plus one horrible sight...a badly wrecked 550!

It helped that they thought my parents might buy a Maserati coupe with the F1 transmission, even took us for a test drive...awesome car (hey, it's a Ferrari engine.)

Would like to echo Terry's sentiments regarding FoCF....very warm and friendly dealership with great people working there in both sales and parts.

We usually pay them a visit at least a couple times a year (was just there a couple Saturdays ago). Raymund (sales) and Doug (parts) are always very accommodating, and gladly answer any questions one might have -- and will be more than happy to show you around the place (including the service area).

To my knowledge, they are always closed on Sunday. Normal business is Mon. - Sat. for them (and you won't see too many employees around the place between 12:00 and 1:00 PM either -- lunch break).

You can check their hours and inventory by going to www.ferrariusa.com and select Dealers > Dealer Locator > and choose the state of FL.

Have never purchased an F-car there personally as of yet, nor have I had the 308 serviced there to date. A friend of mine has his 360 serviced there, and a 360 spider on order as well...and he's very happy with his dealings there. However, I've also heard the contrary from another owner regarding his personal experience.

Regardless, FoCF is a great place to visit and talk F-cars -- not to mention drool over the inventory. They'll even pour you a cup of cappuccino!

I guess Crown wasn't on my "to do" list for a while. I used to get a real kick out of their pricing schemes, though.

TERRY, this is the way dealerships are supposed to treat you anyway. I walked into my local Benz dealership years ago and was really turned off. Went across the street and bought a Lexus and stuck with them for almost 10 years. Decided to give MB another shot and I was happy. The salesguy was right around my age and didn't mind I was dressed like a total schlub (as was my buddy who was pretty trashed at the time - that's another story LOL). Bought the car on the spot. We're pretty good friends now, the salesguy and me.

When have you been? To my knowledge, Crown closed years ago.

Ferrari of Central Florida receives its fair share of tourists - the dealership is VERY visible from a major interstate approaching Walt Disney World/Epcot, Universal Studios, etc. Is it just me, or are all dealerships intimidating places - "buy-or-get-out"???

You are exactly right about the Crown, they were one of the many dealers in the US that lost the franchise, because of gouging, or at least that is what I heard. Plus they never really had much in the way of inventory either. Ferrari also really prefers that authorized dealers have a seperate facility for Ferrari and they probably didn't sell enough to justify the overhead.

Ferrari of Central Florida (Orlando)- I visit Florida at least once a year and They are always on my list of places to visit. The people there are VERY nice and respectful. I show up in my vacation clothes with my two small kids and my wife, I arrive camera in hand and after gushing like a school girl over the inventory I head straight to the boutique items and I overpay for Ferrari clothes. They always treat me like GOLD! One time a salesperson actually played with my kids as I took pictures. He was playing hide and seek in the boutique area and then quizing my oldest on different Ferrari models. I have never purchased a Ferrari from them, but they are by far the most inviting dealer for an enthusiast that I have ever visited.

What's the deal with these guys? Stopped down there a few weeks ago on a Sunday and they were closed. Had some nice stuff on the showroom floor, including a couple of older TRs and (3) 360s, including a champagne-colored spider. Good dealer or no?

Also, for anyone who may know, whatever happened to Crown Ferrari in St. Pete? I hadn't been there in a few years and noticed they're no longer a Ferrari dealer. What's up with that? Maybe those $350,000 Testarossas they were trying to sell about 13 years ago put the final stake in the coffin?
