The U.S. bumper shocks don't have fluid in them, merely compressed gas. When you drill a small hole, you'll hear it hiss out. You can then push in the bumper with a rubber mallet. |

Arie, I talked with my wife and she agreed that you need to collapse the front bumper right now. You said you own the body shop so it is a free modification that will give immediate results. I think you need to spend the grand it will take to put the Euro spoiler on your car. I can't wait to see the photo's of your car with the mods. That yellow 308 is going to be one mean machine! Keep me posted!!!!!!! |

Arie, Just looking at your photo again and another thing you can do on your car is collapse the front bumper. There are energy absorbing shocks on the bumper and you can drill holes in them to drain the fluid and allow you to push the bumper back into the body. Look at the bumper in your pic and then look at the bumper on my car in my profile. You can do a search and figure out how to do this. |

The 308 is lowered 1.5" and has 225/50x16's on the back and 205/55x16's on the front. Firestone Firehawks. I like the tires a lot. Actually, I think it is the Euro front spoiler that really makes the car. Compare the front spoiler on my car with the one on your car. You need to get yourself one of those Euro spoilers for that "really low" look. Yes, I do scrape it occasionally. I do love the yellow on your car. The CJ7 has 3" suspension lift and 2" body lift and is sitting on 35" Mickey Thompsons. Check out my profile for a better pic of the 308. |

Wolfgang, Cute kitty! Have two myself. Arie, I would be very careful with doing a 3" drop on a street car. You are bound for trouble. 1.5" alone is probably going to give you enough trouble with curbs, driveways, and railroad crossings. 3" and you will trouble with a simple bump or dip in the road! I have dropped a couple street cars 1.25 to 1.5" and catch on all kinds of crap in my daily travels. Because of this, I will probably never lower a car again... |

The factory supplied sizes on 16 inch wheels for both 308's and 328's is 205/55 front 225/50 rear. As noted below, some owners opt for the fatter 225/50 front and 245/45 rear. With today's better tires, this may be fine. Dave |

I'm running 205/55-16's front and 245/45-16's on the rear. The wheels are HRE's (7's up front and 8's in the rear). I get a little more understeer with this set up, but not bad. I tried 225/50's up front but they "bulged" a bit too much on my rims (I also didn't want the added steering effort at slow speeds). I did consider 215/50's as what came stock on my '00 Ford Contour SVT, but in the end stuck with the 205's I will have the car lowered in a couple of weeks after I install my adjustable coilovers. I'll post pix then. I love the look of the 245's on the rear. Mark, your 285's must look mean on the rears...any pix? |
