"The last post I had made about this Ferrari that Naples Motorsports had was about what a customer had told me. I decided to do some checking because we had done some deals with them in the past, and know they have a great reputation. Come to find out the customer was trying to run a story about that car,to make Naples look bad, because he was upset after purchasing his car. He was upset because he wishes after getting his TS, he had bought a spider instead. I would like to appologize for misleading anyone on this particular car."

A customer called me complaining about that car, and that is had a salvage title after he signed the bill of sale. They said that they didn't know it was salvage title. I guess he took it back and ended up with the 1990 348ts with 10k on it they have there. He is never wantitng to deal with them again, and wants me to get him out of his car, and into our spider.

The 348 Spider, approx 10k miles they have there has had paintwork.

I haven't ever purchased from them, but they told me about the paintwork over the phone. I thought that was nice & honest. Also kept us from wasting each others time. That's better than 90% of the other sellers out there & says a lot about their integrity to disclose known facts.

Martin, yes but I really do not want to name, names. 2.0 hours for the timing belt R&R??? Maybe, if the engine was out already. Nobody but me realized that there was no way a timing belt service could cost $300 with parts.

I am really glad I passed on that one.

If it is connected with Bay State Motor Sports, they should be fine to deal with if they haven't changed business ethics since 1995 as I sold a low mileage ZR-1 to them.

I saw something very concerning a while back. I was ready to consumate a deal on a 355. We were splitting hairs in the fianl negotiations, coming within 1K of the "magic number". Fortunately I reviewed (scrutinized) the service records as I noted something weird: I was told that a complete 30K service was done. Upon review I noted that the non-FNA dealer (non-Ferrari specialist) had done the last service on the car. They billed a total of amount for parts and labor of $900. For the timing belt R&R labor they had $190 (appx. 2 hours). That threw up a red flag and I bailed on the deal.

The car was clean but the 30K "service" issue really put me off.

Naples Motorsport is one of the few good dealers that have an excellent reputation! I have yet to hear anybody complain about them. They get excellent cars are a little pricy but you get a great car.

When I started my search for an exotic I visited their showroom in Malden and found them to be very helpful and not pushy in the least (more like car nuts who happen to sell cars). My wife and I spent a few hours there checking out the cars and talking about them. At the time I was seriously considering a Lotus Esprit TT which was at their Florida store (Naples) and the sales guy here and there both went above and beyond in making sure I had all the information I asked for. In the end I passed on the car and after purchasing my 355 privately, I ran into them at a Ferrari event, where we talked about the 355 I just purchased and when I asked them on a recommendation for servicing the car, they turned me on to the guys at Boston Sports Car.

I bought my Mondial from them and it came exactly as described except for the radio not working. Very nice people to do business with. Would definitely buy another car from them. One thing is that their cars are slightly overpriced but the quality is definitely there.

i don't know them, but have been impressed with their ebay listings. they go into a ton of detail and don't seem to be afraid to list and even show the minor warts on some of the cars.

one of these days i'll haul my butt over to their MA shop to meet them...

doody.

Ive know Todd Rosenthal, owner of Naples Motor Sports, for about 7 years. He also owns Bay State Motor Sports in Massachusetts. Todds a great guy and good to work with. Hes very passionate about his business and his sales pitch is intoxicating. Having known numerous people that have purchased from him over the years, I would rate him very honorable in his business dealings. He only deals in low mileage exotics, so his cars should be mostly reliable. Since neither dealership has a service department, they cant always provide the best information concerning vehicle history or technical integrity. As a result, they are generally very flexible about test drives and vehicle inspections......and he always leaves a little room to negotiate. :-)

Good luck!

I was there last Fall, while in Florida. A rather small place, but the people where very friendly, and knew there cars VERY well. They appeared honest, to me.

The pictures you see on e-bay, where NOT taken on their lot.

Hello... They are a branch of a dealer in Boston. From all I have noted when visiting their shop they seem to keep very good records and have many repeat customers. I looked at a 355 there and was very impressed with their efforts to offer information and history of the cars in stock.
