Flimsy = not very strong, weak. Often used to describe a weak argument (or perhaps a rather see through piece of ladies nightwear...) |

Paul, sorry what "flimsy" means? I also saw them and the problem I saw on them is that the slide of the lexan is not smooth, but I though I had to be that way for not to vibrate... anyway I guess you guys are right ,I just loved the wannabe racing look..

Note that alot of 360 challenge cars do not have side windows at all. They just have a little 1/4 window at the front and then a space. Most drivers seem to then have a mesh affair strapped to the roof and roll cage to prevent an arm flying out of the window in a roll over... I'm going for the Electric windows. Note however that the glass over the engine is lexan (or at least plastic) and I assume doesn't have the demist stuff of the standard car. |

The front window could be taped up like they do in NASCAR. They have various films that can be pulled off during the race. Side window well, they scratch so I would not go for it for a driver but for the race car that is the only way to go other than no window. |

Gian, I know you have your heart set on the Lexan windows but I inspected them on a local Challenge car and the way they are mounted they are EXTREMELY flimsy. Did you get to handle them at the Geneva show? If you must have them I am sure that your dealer can give you a price. Paul |

Gian, they use some other aerospace material for lightweight racing car windshields. It's very expensive. |

Lexan is fairly cheap but who knows with FNA they might charge you a zillion bucks for one windshield. We use them on race cars but for street use I wouldn't advise them for use. The scratch very easily, fog up and are a pain to replace. Most race teams replace them once per year on the side windows. I think you would be much better off with the regular windows. I have been told that even in Europe that lexan will not go for the Strdale, for quality control and omologation, it says it scratches a lot and affects the visibility.. I thought it look very nice on the car. would you guys get the 360 challenge lexan windows and install it in the Stradale? any idea of the cost of a Challeenge lexan window??? |
