I am amazed by the output of information, thank you all. Ok, I have grown to actually appreciate the rear-end of the 348, I love the car. After owning a 328, I guess I had gotten use to 4 round tail-lights...But at this point, I think I will leave the 348 the way it is and use the funds available for a TUBI! |

I have a Speciale and prefer the look of the "regular" 348. (OK Martin, so you think the a$$ end of my car is ugly, well maybe so, but every parent with an ugly baby still loves the baby!) Like everyone is saying, if you want a 355 look, get a 355. Put the extra money into a sport exhaust or 18-inch wheels. |

>>Why turn a 348 into a kit car?<< Why own a plane jane version and be exactly like everyone else? Even Ferrari recognized the need to step away from thousands of identical clones and produced "specialle" versions.. It's OK to express Individuality! If Enzo Ferrari himself had not have believed that statement Ferrari Cars would not exist.

The 355 will not work in the 348. I personally hate the Speciale look. Ugly! I would leave it as is and buy a 355 when you are ready. There is nothing wrong with the 348 rear. it is classic. |

hmmmmmmm just my .02..... $3000 ??? I might spend that kind of money on the engine, pump, belts etc.. before modifying the rear.... take no offense... I understand your dilema though.. |

"kit car?" You're a freak, Ken. Customizing your car doesn't turn it into a "kit car!" I have to think that anyone so concerned with people thinking his Ferrari is a fake is only interested in it as something to lean against outside of a restaurant or bar and doesn't deserve one in the first place. Luke. PS, Time to update the lingo. "Kit Car" Ha! |

You guy's are awesome, thanks for all the input and information. Now I have some real homework to do. The best setup would be a challenge grill, but has a few have mentioned does this give it the "kit car" feel, and that is something that I do not want. Thanks again. Decisions, decisions... |

Why turn a 348 into a kit car? Buy a 355 if you like the 355. You're going to confuse a lot of kids. Just my opinion. |

Albert I'd also like a 355 style rear on my 348. I am happy with the flanks and front of the 348 but would prefer the round light rear end. I'd change the rear on my 348 but only if the mod was reversible. I've seen nothing out there that is. I'd like to go the challenge look rear on my 348 with those perforations in the fabrication. |

It's been done and there is kit to do that. However, my question is why? If you don't like the rear end, go to a Speciale rear light system. Looks better than all of the 355s and 348s. Art |

Albert, this all boils down to personal taste. The way I see it, if you want the look of a 355, get the 355. The 348 has its own merits. There have been many cases of people doing this... and quite frankly, no matter what is done, it's just not "really" the same look as a 355. The alignment of the lights with the rear deck and the width of the rear bumber just don't seem right. You make the call. $3000 for a hybrid car design or keep your 348 with classic design and just buy a 355 later on. |

Love them round lights! Just not sure what this will do to the value of the car? I contacted the web site that Frank Parker was kind enough to give out, they want $3000 for the kit, it's a carbon fiber panel made for a 348 and includes the 4 lights. Decisions, Decisions, what I really want is a challenge grill back there!!! |

Why don't you pull the rear grill off and go with the speciale look?? Unless your hooked on those round lights of course |

Has anyone here switched out the rear lights and rear panel out of a 348 to a 355 style rear end with 4 round lights? I know that there is some difference in height and width of the rear panel, but has anyone done this and if so HELP!
