DES, If you're looking for high circulation (new career), go with C/D, they've done exactly what you want to do for other writers. Good luck, Rob |

DES, Forza would be a good try for your article. They are not as stuffy as Cavallino. Cavasllino is for a different reader and a great magazine but not for your purpose. The FCA's Prancing Horse would also work but not alot of readership. |

JMJ, yes, i joined the FCA; as of yet, however, i've not received an issue of The Prancing Horse, so i'm still waiting for that... If anyone knows the editorial contributions address of The Prancing Horse or Rosso Ferrari or Cavallino, please feel free to post it... |

DES, With your permission (only after the magazines pick up your story) I would like to post your memoir in the Driver's Journal for Ferrari Driving Club. Does this sound ok to you?

DES, didn't you recently join one of the national Ferrari clubs? I think in one of their publications would be your best chance. All the Best, JMJ |

Pat, although i've spoken with her recently, i don't think right now would be a fitting time to ask her advice on the subject; unfortunately, Nika's dog Fangio passed away and she's rightfully upset about it. Rosso Ferrari, The Prancing Horse & Cavallino are all magazines i've heard of, but not seen. As an FCA member, i understand i'll be receiving an issue of The Prancing Horse, but as of yet, that hasn't happened. Anyone know the editorial contributions addresses for these publications...? Ken, Matt: Forza's a definite no matter if anyone else publishes the story. Ken, at your suggestion, R&T will go to the bottom of the list. |

Rosso Ferrari magazine is affiliated with R&T. Also try "the prancing horse" (official FCA mag). Both of these have had interesting stories on driving and touring events. Along with your story, they probably want some photos too. Heck, where are YOUR photos for this fabulous trip, DES? |

Since your story is Ferrari inspired, why not try Forza first and see what they will do with it. Since C&D wants exclusivity, you might hold them off for last. |

Since my 6-part story on my trip to California is complete, at the suggestion of several members here, i'll be submitting it to several automotive publications in the hopes of: A). Having the story published; B). Having a public, published thank you to everyone out in California who made the time of my life possible... So, um... i have a few questions... So far, i have the editorial submissions/contributions addresses for Forza, Sports Car International, Road & Track, Car & Driver and Automobile - am i missing any...? EVO is published in the UK and although they have dstribution here in the states, i don't think the odds are likely that they'd push my story. Any other magazines you all could suggest...? Contributions to Road & Track are only considered if guaranteed exclusive; i intended to just sent a copy of the story to every publication, all at once. Do i send a copy to Road & Track first and wait a month to see what happens...? Has anyone here ever made an editorial contribution to an automotive magazine...? What happens if they do publish your submission...? Will they notify me in some way or do i just need to check future issues...? This is obviously something i've never done before, so if you know something, any and all advice and/or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks... |
