instead of speculating about whether you'd get robbed or 'get lucky', why not ask the young lady for her & bfriend's names and some references. Turning 18, probably still in high school(if dropped out, drop 'em and move on), SOMEbody at the high school's gonna know whether these kid's are on the up & up or not...also, maybe a discreet phone call to kid's parents might be in line...

Basically, there should be NO surprises on this deal by the time the car meets the kid.

If it all checks out, remember there's ONLY ONE first time :-)

If you're worried about being robbed, meet them at the police station!

Don't think it's out of line to ask for a reference, I would likely ask quietly around to see if anyone knew this girl.

Be open, and willing and generous with your car and your heart, but at the same time, don't walk into an obvious setup :-)

Hell, just call her on the phone and decide then. C'mon, what ever happened to having a little FUN!?

I won't even dignify that 'first responce' classless to say the least.

Best!
Ben.

I'm somewhere in between Rob F. and Rob L.

I don't think it's an unreasonable request. Also, it would be different if she was one of those who attend the local gatherings or gets involved in the chat. Gets to know the folks in her area etc. Out of the blue, I personally would not do it. Then again, I don't have a Ferrari :-).

With all the messed up people out there (not saying she or her boyfriend are) one can never be too careful. Losing faith in human character is a bit much.

Cheers

i wouldn't go as far as losing faith in the human character...why would you go out of your way for someone who contacts you over the itnernet? maybe this guy you send over to this girl will get be picking up an ex con who will shoot him in the face then steal the car...its the internet, believe none of what you read and half of what you hear...its a very random request... can F-chat get sued if they hook two people up and something bad happens?

It's not that big of deal. I would of died for an opportunity like this at 18. If you're in the area and enjoy doing kind things like this, then please respond. Some of you make me loose faith in the human character.

Brian,

You have to be 21 years old to rent an exotic. You also need a major credit card with a high limit. Full coverage insurance is a must!

Try renting any car at age 18. Then try renting an exotic at age 18 without a major credit card.

I don't know Rob, can you really vouch for this woman? I stopped picking up hitchhikers after I got robbed. If this is really on the up and up I might respond but I don't know these people from a hole in the wall!

Is she a true enthusiast?

Just the truth. Nothing bad. Rob is just mad at me cos I said he was being childish by bating Allen in another thread.

Interesting first response. Not sure who's going to feel more insulted . . . her or the old pervs here.

Stephanie contacted me and I suggested to post here on FerrariChat.com. Seems like a great idea and there should be some users in the area to help out.
