Billy, I don't think the trade back to the 993 Turbo is widespread. While there are a few people who have sold their 996 Turbo's, there are hundreds more buying the new cars. The resale values of the 993 Turbo has dropped dramatically. One can have a good '96 example for under $80K and a '97 for less than $90K nowadays. Personally, I prefer the more raw 993 and think the 996 is a very capable tourer with great sporting attributes. I think it makes for a pretty nice daily driver rather than a "special" weekend car. |

I don't know if this comment maks any difference, but my brother has a twin turbo 993 not 996 porsche. The dealer he takes it to tells me that people are giving up the new twins to buy back their old ones and that is why they have not depreciated in price. To me it feels like a volkswagon on steroids and is all plastic and shares everything with the $70,000 cheaper boxster. Looks like one too. |

I reccently traded my 2001 Twin Turbo for a 360. The Porsche was great, but to civilized...it will throw you back in your seat a little quicker then the 360....But..THE 360 SINGS....My suggestion..buy a Z06 and a used 355. |

There's too many of them around here. People don't really notice them and can't tell the difference between Turbo and regular 996s. Also, it's too quiet. You're better off buying a Ferrari. |

it is a mass produced high value loosing plastic bomber! A friend of mine has a 996 and everything in that car is plastic. The thing is fast but the quality is poor! Get a used 550 for better fun! |

Any comments or experiences with this car or any of its predecessors. I am thinking of getting one and wanted your opinion. I know this is a Ferrari forum, but I know many of you have experiences with the P car Thanks in advance |
