I can vouch for Gary's car, seen it, heard it, and watched it on the dyno. It is a strong running car, that was been well cared for and properly maintained. It pulled an honest 200hp at the wheels on the dyno, meaning it is making around 240hp at the crank. Not too shabby at all!

If anyone is interested, I'll sell my 1983 308 GTS QV for the same "buy it now" price as the 2-valve on eBay. I'm planning on listing it for sale next month anyway. Mine has a Tubi exhaust, K&N, Hella/PIAA, BBS motorsport 16" 3-piece racing wheels, new Yoko tires, brakes,355 pedals, tool kit, manuals, etc.,etc... Proper repairs and receipts for the last five years that I've owned it. It's a very strong running QV, the only reason I'm selling it is to move up to a newer model Ferrari. Ask anyone in the NW Region FCA, they all know the car. Email me at: [email protected]

The seller is smoking crack...he is not expecting anyone to pay his reserve, he is "bottom fishing" for people to come back and call to and make offers after the auction ends.

There are way too many variables as to how long ago the major was performed, what was involved, and who did it. And what may still need to be done...

IF it passed a PPI it could still be a good value for low 30's. A good car is a good car...but I would wait around, save some more dollars and find a nice QV for mid/upper thirties. Well worth the wait. An 84-85 QV has 16" wheels, more power and factory rust proofing (83 on back, did not have rust proofing).

John,

The Buy Now price, as others have mentioned, is WAY too high. While not one to lift my skirt so to speak, the well cared for '85 GTS Euro QV (better than US version and one of the very last ones to ever roll off the assembly line) was close to that price. Add to that all the extras that came with the QV here at that Buy Now price. My GUESS, he is about 7k too high if the "recent major service" is VERY recent and VERY major AND she PPI's excellent.

DISCLAIMER: My opinion and $4 gets me a horrible cup of espresso in San Francisco.

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

PS: Maybe it is another guy being asked by his wife to sell his car. She honey, uh huh, yes... i am trying to sell it ;-)

The buy it now price is what you could pick up a 41k miles QV for. Wait for the one you want. I've been looking since January and only seen two cars I'd consider buying but both were purchased before I got a chance to offer.

Be patient. I know it's tough, but that one is WAY overpriced.

Failed emissions tests only matter if your state requires it. And yes, very pricey. So just wait for the auction to close and then contact the seller and make him YOUR offer.
