Some news for you at last.

Apparently we have sent over a claim to the Factory in Italy and are now awaiting authorisation from them to return the part to them. This is how it works.

When / if they ask for the part then they will make a judgement on it and let us know the outcome when they've inspected it.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will hear from them this side of their summer shut-down in August.

There is not much more I can say apart from sorry for the inconvenience.

At least you know what's happening now.

Rob,

I think it would depend on how long the problem has been going on. Exp. The dealer or person is not acting in good faith or is taking a really long time to get back to you.

If you know Ferrari UK to be reliable and their service to be appropriate as you expect, then there was no reason to post your first message.

Rob,

I agree, after reading my post, and looking at it from everybody else's view point, perhaps this should have been a private message.

But, it is interesting to see what kind of customer service a company has, in this case, it is excellent.

Jeff has already taken care of this, as you would expect, you can rely on Ferrari UK.

Thank you

No problem Chris, it worked out fine. I just don't know how I feel about users using FerrariChat.com as leverage to pressure businesses. Maybe that's a good thing that we as a community have more power than we would as an individual. I was just asking myself the question what motivations for posting a question publicly that could be asked as efficiently through email or phone. I think I know the answer and maybe that's OK.

Rob,

I do not have a problem with Ferrari UK, I have a problem with a turbo!

I was not trying to create an issue, Jeff did exactly as I would have wanted and will go through Ted Rutland.

Ted had said Ferrari UK was looking into this, Jeff has always been very professional, so if he can be involved with this, I feel more comfortable.

I have great respect for Ferrari UK, regardless of the outcome, no mud will be slung!

I understand that some items may or may not carry a warranty. I just need to know if this item will be covered or if I need to purchase another turbo from Ferrari UK.

Chris -

Will pass this message to our guy who deals with Rutlands and let you know. Although you may hear before us.

Thanks.

Hmm, not sure what I think about this. I think it should be a private matter not handled on the board. If you have a problem with the local car dealer, do you take an ad out in the paper to communicate? I'll do as I always do 99.9% of the time and leave it. Better to err on too little moderation than too much. :-)

Hey guys,

I purchased a set of F40 LM Turbo's from Ted Rutland that he purchased from you.

I bought these last August but did not install them till November.

With less than 2,500 miles on them I have an oil leak on on the passenger side turbo.

Will Ferrari UK warranty the turbo? I know Ted is calling you for instructions.

I hate to put you on the spot in front of everyone on FERRARICHAT, but I need to get this resolved.

Thanks,

Chris
