Henry,
I didn't call the guy. I emailed him asking if the car was the same one I had looked at several months ago. He wasn't sure as he bought through a broker and then he spilled how much he paid. I told him his asking price was probably too high and what he could probably get for it. He said since I replied he would cut me a deal below the 59K buy it now price. I declined saying I really wasn't in the market. I even suggested he post it on ferrariads for free. Told him to be careful posting it blindly on fchat because he would get blasted.

He then lowered his reserve to 50,656 and it says it on ebay, he didn't tell me that.

He didn't tell me he "had" or "needed" to sell it. I just got that feeling. Didn't mean to imply someone should take adavantage of him. Just meant there was a decent car for a decent price and the guy seems ready to deal.

Hendryk,
Jim is actively looking for a car. He has every right to call him up and inquire.
No harm done. Randy has it in the ebay listing that he has run into financial trouble and needs to sell.

I think it is a great deal and if you can grab this car at $50K you are getting well your moneys worth. A TR is a great car with great power and great history. I get asked every day in the car how fast it goes, how old it is, how beautiful it is!

TRs are the true Supercar of the 80s in my opinion. The F40 is the first Supercar of the 90s.

Jim: Here this guy is trying to sell his car......you call him.......he confides in you about possibly needing the money.......and you, blab it on this chat to the whole world!!!!!!! I think you are acting childish. You obviously where never interested in the car to begin with.

I hope Randy gets his $56,000, as Martin thinks the car is worth.

I talked to the guy and he needs to sell. He paid more than he is selling it for 6 months ago and it just had a service. Reserve is at 50,656 right now. If you offered $50k I bet he would take it.

To Randy's defense his car looks very clean. If he has the 30K done recently, the books, records, tools etc. I think this is a good buy at $ 56,000 I am sure you can strike a deal with him for a little less even and he will not have to experience a BAD e-Bay deal!

Randy if you are not a dealer then you have to register the car to transfer is to the next owner. So that makes it a 2 owner car. Still nothing to worry about!

I think this is a good deal guys, say what you want!

Randy,
How can the car be a "one owner" if you bought it from someone else? Are you not an "owner"?

Well then, Randy, you paid thousands too much....

And by the way, why would you raise your reserve if you need to sell the car faster? Wouldn't you lower it instead? And why does it say the TR has automatic transmission?

A testarossa for less than a 328, that sounds more like a kit car price. My advice is to stay light years away from it.

NOt sure if that is the same car, but the pics are the same as a TR I looked at out in San Diego area from Luke at www.opprime.com

I won't discuss prices as that might be unfair to Randy.

Hey, if I had an extra $15K I would have contacted you about the TR, but as it stands, I'm going to have to keep looking for a 308.

I think $39K for that TR you've got is a pretty good deal (assuming good PPI, etc....). The TR's really seem to have fallen hard recently and IMO they may be getting close to bottom. Heck, a 328 gets more money now a days!

I know it's a different car Martin! But when you compare his price versus yours, and the cars are only 1-year apart and the miles on yours is only a little higher...get my point?
